The biggest changes we made to enhance this existing layout? We flipped the small pantry entry from the kitchen-facing side to the hall-facing side and reworked the pantry’s interior to give our clients a larger “step-in” space with ample storage (and outlets of course for seldom-used appliances!) And perhaps double the work but initially not as noticeable, we removed a small window in order to extend the kitchen another 5’ all the way to the exterior wall. Sometimes the simplest layout changes can be the most impactful✨

1. a mitered subway corner + an antique brass & white towel hook

The biggest change we made to this 1900 home: the only access to one of the bedrooms was THROUGH this bathroom (shown on the second slide) so we removed the door, added a small set of steps for some hallway access and voilà! Of course we couldn’t just close off the door, we had to make it pretty too✨We’re beyond thrilled with how it turned out!

Love this kitchen so much and the baked goods that will come out of it! But really it’s the magician-like carpentry had to pull off in order to recess the double oven into the wall while making it look like it was always that way because we also added another set of steps upstairs that does it for me🎉😂🫠

What was once an unused additional entryway into a living room got enclosed and reworked into a wet bar that was then perfectly incorporated into the kitchen. And it’s just so pretty and functional!

Bumping this kitchen wall over about 3’ was one of our best ideas ever to maximize on functionality and space. Not only did this family get an entirely new layout, we were also able to match some original features of the home including the arched openings and hardwood floors. More photos to come!
