Trying my hand at . Ya'll have an outstanding weekend!
Since social media shows everyoneβs highlight reel, I'm sharing a blooper.
I recently undertook a project. During our initial conversation, the customer and I discussed design options and tossed around ideas. There was a genuine eagerness to get started. I laid out the process and got to work. After a few days I was tracking to finish ahead of schedule. Nearing completion, I sent the customer a final update. His reply, while cordial, expressed disappointment.
As I read the message, I knew exactly what happened.
Everything looked great, until it didn't.
Rather than providing a mock-up of the proposed design, I jumped straight into the project. In one fell swoop I violated the customer's expectations, missed out on vital feedback and a chance to adjust the design.
I accepted responsibility, apologized, corrected the mistake (top left pic), backed up, and produced the mock-up. Thankfully, the customer was cool and allowed me a do over.
Follow your process. Communicate often to inform, solicit feedback, clarify and confirm. When you make a mistake own up to it, take immediate corrective action, and deliver.
Cheers...

Keep track of your mementos when you're a young thruster. In later years, you'll be glad you did. Above, are some of those that I picked up along the way. Perhaps a display? hmm π€
