The holidays are over and we’re back at it. The daily grind. This time of year, the internet is thick with detox tips to help us rid ourselves of all those treats and cocktails we’ve loved in the moment and then cursed once we’ve tried to put on skinny jeans. It’s true! We do need to detox every now and again, but not just from food and alcohol. We need to remember that our need to be constantly plugged-in... to work, the news, email, texts, calls, clients, friends, relatives, social media, etc... takes its toll on us (physically and emotionally). The science is real. Medical studies suggest that the hyper-elevated state of arousal from electronic input to which we have all become accustomed, activates our stress hormones, impairs our immune systems, and impedes our emotional coping mechanisms. We all need to be our strongest , healthiest selves to conquer the challenges of 2021, so why don’t we all start by unplugging( even for a little)!
