Everybody wants to talk about next week, so fine, we'll talk about next week. But first, let's talk about this Thursday. Thursday is going to be sunny with highs in the 50s. Enjoy Thursday as much as you possibly can, because after that things head downhill quickly. Friday and Friday night we're getting another cold front. Big cold front. Wind and rain and maybe some snow on the tail end, maybe some light accumulations along the Cumberland Plateau early Saturday. (You all know how this works.) So next weekend is going to be a cold one. That's cold front #1. Cold front #2 is going to be painful. That one looks to come through on Monday. We *may* get a decent snow Sunday night and Monday (note the asterisks). It's much too early to start talking amounts. We won't go there yet. So please don't ask about amounts. (Don't do it!) However, it is worth mentioning that temperatures Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning could end up in the single digits. In fact, the entire week looks to be frigid. We're talking Siberian weather here. Note the big blue blob on the 6-10 day temperature outlook. It's big and it's blue and it's over us. Now, let me finish with a caveat. The forecast will change, and it will change again, and it will change again after that. I'm telling you what we know right now. This is just a heads up that Big Winter may be lurking in our future.

If you find yourself “aquaplaning/hydroplaning” DO NOT brake hard, ease off the brake, and keep two hands on the wheel.
Please drive safe! 🛞💧👍🏻
