Per the EPA. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has adopted new refrigerant codes for residential and light commercial air conditioners and heat pumps, which will take effect on January 1, 2025. The codes phase out the use of R-410A refrigerant in favor of R-32 and R-454B, depending on the manufacturer. These new refrigerants are classified as A2L (mildly flammable) by ASHRAE, and they have different flammability characteristics than previous refrigerants. As a result, safety, training, and building code updates are important considerations.

Guess what this means for the consumer? Higher prices. Don't wait until next year to get your new system.

Coil cleaning special going on for March! Have you been neglecting your ac unit for a couple seasons? Is it struggling to keep up already? Get a full service cleaning and get it back up to speed for $350. We will pull your evap coil and clean it, clean your outdoor coil, blow out drain lines and check pressure and capacitor. A few things to consider coming into the end of the year.
1. Energy codes are going up January 1st of 2023 and ac units will cost more money at that point in time. You will be required to install a heat pump and you are required to install 15.2 seer equipment or higher. December will be the last month to install 14 seer equipment. Contact us ASAP if you are interested in getting something done this month.
2. December-February are the months to get your duct repairs/changes done. Labor costs are 50-70% cheaper in these months than in the warmer months of the year. Duct cleaning is not your best option if you have dirty ducts. Replacement eliminates the problem, and you may be surprised that the cost isn't much more than a reputable duct cleaning job.
3. If you have breathing issues at this time of year. They most likely stem from allergies, viruses, or bacteria. Did you know that we can install a whole home air purification system that will combat these issues inside your home? Did you also know we have options that start at $700 including installation?
4. Winter is the best time to get your maintenance done. If you haven't been the best at changing your filter during the year or generally neglecting your ac system for years, let us help. We offer all levels of cleaning, along with yearly maintenance. Cleanings are $150-500 depending on severity. Maintenance, if kept up annually after initial cleaning or install, is $75.
