One great thing about Christmas is the fellowship with friends and family that takes place during the holiday season. We enjoyed doing just that last night with our Enviro Vat Family. Our annual Christmas party was one for the books!

Enviro Vat
The Enviro Vat was invented in a small West Texas town in the late 1980’s, as a solution for a customer who had a flow-line problem. The field, south of Big Spring, had hundreds of old, unmarked flowlines, and the operator could not dig pits to handle the release of produced fluids during well maintenance.
The “vat” was designed to bolt to the wellhead, or BOP, and would catch the fluid before it hit the ground. They would connect a vacuum truck to the vat, and the truck would contain the fluid and haul it away. This eliminated the need to dig a pit in the ground, which was a dangerous task in a field with unmarked flow lines. Keeping the fluid from hitting the ground was an added benefit that saved companies money on clean-up and remediation costs.
Later, we realized that we could cut customer costs in another way…. Develop a small vacuum system that takes the place of a vacuum truck and is rented at a much lower daily cost. It has a smaller tank on a 20 ft. trailer, with a vacuum system to contain well fluids, and a transfer pump to put the fluid back down the well or into the tank battery. This system eliminates spills and dirt pits, reduces the need for vacuum trucks, and returns production back to the battery. This system has proven to save money for our customers.
After 100 years of doing things the old way, customers now have a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to digging pits and paying for costly trucking. The safety and environmental trend that we all know as a way of life today, started with the introduction of Enviro Vat in the early 1990’s. That’s something we’re very proud of!
