Such a stunning wedding at Legacy Hill Farm. When Annie and Colton told me about all the adventures they had been on together, I knew we had to seek out every corner of the venue – every shady grove, every couch, and of course, everywhere they had friends and family waiting for them. This will undoubtably be their greatest adventure yet, and as Annie so beautifully said in her vows, "I promise to make wherever life takes us feel like our home." Congrats you two!

One thing Caitlin & Jordan told me about themselves was that they love to travel, from Moab to Denver to Duluth and beyond. So how fitting it was when we found this path at their venue at Kilkarney Hills. There is a long road ahead for these two, and if their wedding was any indication, it's going to be a spectacular journey.

Anna & Tanner's wedding at Ridgetop had all the big, dreamy moments you'd expect at a wedding, but it was the small moments that really stood out. All the smiles, all the tears and all the laughs. So many laughs. It was so much fun to see these two goof around together, I don't know if I have any footage of them not smiling. Their journey together is certainly going to be a blast.

When Ollie & Kali told me they were having a Hobbit wedding, I expected epic things. And as spectacular as it was, it turned out that it was the small, impromptu and, dare I say, *unexpected* moments that stole the show. In fact, this was such a unique wedding that I had to get someone special to do the narration of this teaser ;)

So much natural light and laughter at Frankie & Tom's wedding this past summer. Is there such a thing as too many memorable moments? Here's the official teaser...

This wedding had so many incredible moments it was nearly impossible to edit. From the spectacular ever-changing scenery to the hilarious comments of those in attendance to the warm spirit of those who couldn't be, and so many more. In the end, Chelsey & Lance's story is made up of several chapters with several moments in each one. Their wedding at Almquist Farm illustrated many, but I'm sure their greatest chapters are yet to come. Congratulations you two!

I love this quote by Keith Haring. This is exactly why I put so much heart, soul and time into these wedding films. When things get crazy in the world, it's a great reminder to myself of just how important these films are. It reminds me how art can keep us grounded and inspired, and help keep alive our childlike wonder. This is why I do what I do!

Happy anniversary, Jordan & Chandler! I can't believe it's already been three years -- wow! So many powerful moments, and I don't think I'll ever forget that incredible lightning. A lot of great memories were made that day and there are so many more yet to come.

Congrats to Alllie & Peter on three years of marriage! I still remember their wedding quite well, as it may have been *the* coldest wedding of all time (-20 degrees). After getting to know these two, one thing that really stood out to me was how positive they could make even the most challenging of situations. Despite the frigid temps on their wedding day, we made it outside for some great adventure footage just as they had hoped. It's safe to say that nobody was physically comfortable at the time, but these two smiled and laughed (and shivered) their way through it all. I honestly couldn't feel my hands, but we still had a great time out there and made some incredible new memories.

Adventures and traveling have always been their thing, so it was great to hear that after a crazy 2020, they are finally making plans to start traveling again. Of course, there are no guarantees with the current pandemic, but I would be willing to bet that they will find a way to smile and laugh together this year no matter where they are.

So many great adventures still await these two! Happy anniversary!

Rachel & Jon's wedding had so many great and unique moments. It was so fun to see these two together. No matter what the weather was like, or where we went, these two had a habit of making each other laugh!

Making this film was an amazing experience. Huge thanks to ARIA Mpls for including me along with so many other phenomenal vendors to make this happen. During uncertain times like these, we wanted to create something truly hopeful and inspiring for couples. We also wanted to show that, no matter what happens, you can still have an epic wedding.

So for my film, I thought a lot about the epic space of the venue, and all the space in our lives right now. From the physical distance with social distancing, to plans being put on hold, to reducing the size of weddings, to simply not being able to go to our favorite restaurants for dinner. Things aren't normal. A lot is missing. But I wanted to show that this doesn't define us. And sometimes, having less allows us to focus more on the most important things.

So I filmed this project in a "full frame" format to make the most of the historic space at Aria. And even with an incredibly small wedding party, the space was hardly empty. It was full of historic detail from crystal chandeliers to art hanging on the wall that read "everything will be ok." It was full of all sorts of small moments like the laughs shared between friends to the sun streaming in through the windows during the first dance. There was meaning to be found in the details, in the small moments, and those moments were epic in their own way.

And in the end, there was something even bigger at play here too. It was all of us different vendors who came together to make this happen. From the photography to the interior design to Ally and Esteban at Aria who orchestrated this entire project (wow! what a success!), and so many more. I couldn't be more honored to have been part of this. As I note in this film, when we have each other, nothing can keep us apart.

I know it seems like a lot is missing from life right now, but remember to find meaning in the empty spaces. The spaces in between your greatest moments. Because in the end, there is no space too big and no moment too small when you journey through it with those you love. My new film for ARIA Mpls premieres tomorrow, and I hope it can be at least a small source of positivity for those who see it.

Photos from NarrowLeaf Photography's post 31/07/2020

Wow! My friend at NarrowLeaf Photography just captured one of the most inspiring weddings of the year. This is so incredible. The couple, rather than letting COVID stop them from getting married, decided to make their wedding even more epic than originally planned.

It's an incredibly uplifting story, and the photos are absolutely spectacular. Make sure to read the original post description for the full story. You won't regret it!

This wedding was so inspiring to me. I know how difficult it was for Monica & Cody to plan, but it ended up being absolutely incredible. It reminded me of what we can overcome when we have each other. And it also reminded me that we can have some serious fun while we're at it. This part of their story will be symbolized in their full video, but for now, you can catch some hints of it in this teaser. Congrats again you two!

"Whenever times are hard, I'll know I’m never alone, because I'll have you." I absolutely love these words from Monica in the note she gave to Cody on their wedding day. Teaser video coming on Thursday.

Minneapolis friends... We're looking for some extras to be in a fake (promo) wedding at Aria in the North Loop on Wednesday. If anything, it will give you some good material for the Gram. This venue is a historic landmark and truly spectacular. Send me a note if you're interested!

The difference sound can make. I added a music composition and some sound design to the banner/cover video so it could work outside of the Facebook cover space. This was an interesting process as I usually work the opposite way. I usually start with the composition and edit the video to that. So in this case, I worked backwards. If you listen carefully you might be able to notice the "whooshes" and "hits" I layered into the composition to make things pop.

UPDATE: New website linked below!

When I started filming weddings a few years ago for Tony Pechacek and Showtime Entertainment, creating my own brand was a distant goal. But now, here I am, and I couldn't be more excited for what's to come.

I created this business to capture far more than wedding days. Anders Erik Films is about capturing the connection between two people, whether they're getting married, engaged, or are simply in love. In addition to a wedding day, it's about their journey, their story, and what they mean to one another. It's about creating films that capture the heart and soul of a relationship in true artistic fashion. Timeless, meaningful, and cinematic.

See more about me, my beliefs, and the meaning behind the films in the official website linked below. I can't wait to share more soon!

You have to expect it's going to be cold when you get married in December, but I don't think anyone saw a -13 high temperature coming. So yeah... all those outdoor shots you see... well let's just put it this way; even the coldest of days couldn't stop Allie & Peter. One cold, but great, turn of a page in their never-ending adventure.

This was such a fun day of filming. These two create a party wherever they go and this day was no different. It was the first Love Story I ever filmed, and despite having a plan going into it, there were just so many improvised moments that we ended up ditching the script. In the end, those improvised moments were what really captured the spirit of these two. I'm grateful that I was able to be at their wedding when they played this for their guests because the reactions were priceless. This is the kind of thing that makes me happy to do what I do.

This was one of the very first weddings I ever filmed. Thinking back on it, there was something truly remarkable that happened that day. While filming Tiffany & Derek alongside the photographer, I realized that I wasn't really capturing much more than she was. And that's when it hit me– I should act as a filmmaker and not a second photographer. And at that moment, I visualized a very-small-but-cinematic scene I could film with the couple.

So I quickly harkened back to what I learned in film school, and thought about cinematic sequences (mixing close, medium, and wide shots). Then, I mustered up the courage to act like a real director of a real film, and we filmed this very small scene of Derek walking toward Tiffany and the couple joining hands. I know it might seem like an insignificant detail, but it was an incredibly important moment because now, several years later, these unique "scenes" have become the staple of every wedding I film.

These scenes have evolved to be far more planned and meaningful now, but Tiffany & Derek's wedding was the genesis. This was the precursor to Dana & Joe's journey within Aria, to Jessica & Dan wandering amongst the trees, to Abbie & David finding their river, and so much more.

Of all the weddings I've filmed since and will film in the future, I will always remember the moment during this first wedding where I had to muster up the courage to do something different. I'm so glad I did!
