When reflecting on my trip this summer I thought I could share some things that I learned while in Europe that I wish I would have known before. So here comes Teresas Travel Tips!!!
1. Plan all wanted excursions 10 days before embarking on your adventure. But make sure to leave your schedule open as packed schedules lead to stressful times during travel.
2. Bring mostly comfortable shoes, I only wore cute/fancy shoes once or twice. It is a lot of walking!
3. Try and walk when you can or figure out the local bussing systems. Some cities Uber or taxi system is easy but others are not easy or cheap.
4. Do not take any merchandise from anyone on the street, they will hand it to you and charge you even if you try to give the merchandise back!
5. Finally, no you do not need that many clothes! Bring travel detergent and clean clothes in your hotel as needed instead. Half of the clothes I brought were not used.
6. Yes meals do take about 2 hours, if you are in a rush maybe just stop by for a snack to hold yourself over instead.
7. Tipping is not common although it has become expected from tourists from most servers.
8. Finally know that everyone’s experiences are different keep an open mind and choose what is best for you and your needs!

Our final stop was Santorini, if we didn’t miss our family so much we may have never come home. Where Mykonos was windy and very lush, parts of Santorini were almost desert like. The coastal town of Oia was our favorite. We spent a very relaxing afternoon at the Wet Stories Beach Club which had black sand beach, pretty but very hot to walk on in bare feet. The town is very chic with it white-washed buildings and blue domed churches. There is a beautiful view of the caldera (volcano) from the island.

For the next part of our journey we took a ferry to the lovely island and very lively island of Mykonos. We experienced a gorgeous sunset (photos don’t do justice) from the Armenistis Lighthouse, spent an afternoon at Jackie O’s Beach Club and did lots of shopping along the quaint, flower filled, cobble stone streets. It looks just like all the photos you see. And the water was crystal clear.

The third stop on our trip was Athens, Greece. We ate tge most delicious Greek salads and olives every day.

We visited the Acropolis, the Plaka, the site of the first Olympics and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

We also spent a night in Kalabaka where we visited two of the six remaining monasteries of Meteora, where the James Bond movie “For Your Eyes Only” was filmed.

Next stop on our trip was Naples, Amalfi, Ravello and Pompeii. Ravello was so beautiful and quaint. Saw some of the biggest lemons ever.

Visited the Villa Rufalo in Ravello and had some of the best cannoli’s and sorbet in Amalfi.

This past week my daughter and I returned from a 16 day trip to Italy and Greece, a trip that I have dreamt about for a very long time. So I am excited to share some of our highlights.

We spent the first 3 days in Rome and were blown away by all there is to see. And we got our fill of gelato, aperol spritz, limoncello and pasta!!

Got to see the Villa Borghese, Pantheon, The Vatican, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Bascilica, the famous Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Stairs and the most beautiful family owned winery the Cantine Santa Benedetta. The winery was AMAZING, the best part of our stay in Rome. And I can’t forget the Ice Club.

Just now getting around to posting photo's from our try to Colorado from the first week of August. The weather was outstanding, such a relief from KC weather. And as you can see from the photo's the sky was the bluest blue. We stayed in Granby Ranch but took road trips to Winter Park, Breckenridge and Steamboat Springs.

Another favorite from this past weeks site visits was the Grand Solmar at Lands End.
