MASKING MISSION - Marin Independent Journal Sara Robinson, chair of Age-Friendly San Anselmo, says you can’t help curb the spread of the coronavirus if you don’t wear a mask.
SNEAK PEAK CAMPAIGN POSTER
Today is 100 days until Election Day! Here's a sneak peak of my campaign poster. Yard signs won't include the picture.
I'm still tweaking the campaign website and expect to launch it in a day or two (You can donate now at www.ElectEileenBurke.com).
Volunteering and Giving Back
I am running for Town Council to give back to the Town that has given so much to me. But giving back isn't something new. My parents taught me to give to my community in big and small ways from an early age.
We have a history of giving back in San Anselmo and used to have a volunteer coordinator -- something I want to revive and utilize to improve our Town.
SOME HISTORY:
In 1999 the residents of Barber Avenue donated to pay for new lights on the historic bridge. Twenty years ago in 2000 the 'dinosaur' playground at Memorial Park was built with volunteer labor and materials. And recently, with the help of lots of volunteer labor, the Red Hill and Ridge trails were built, ensuring safe erosion-free access for all.
We have new needs: restoring Memorial Park, preparing for disasters, and helping each other cope with COVID 19 and the upcoming power shutoffs.
We've risen to the challenge before -- and I have no doubt that we will again.

Growing up in San Anselmo
Committee ID number: 1427257
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It’s official – I’m running for San Anselmo Town Council in the November 2020 election!
I filed my candidate papers last week and will be developing my online presence, signage, and campaign contribution structure over the next month. I’d like your support and endorsement.
San Anselmo is in my DNA. I was born on Morningside, raised on Barber, rented on Monterey, and now own a home on Tamalpais. I attended Wade Thomas and St. Anselm, played softball at Memorial, learned to swim at Drake, and walked the creek and climbed Red Hill more times than I can count. Simply, I love this town. My twins, now 16 year-olds at Drake, were born in San Anselmo, and I wouldn’t raise them anywhere else.
I’m a trial lawyer by profession, but like a lot of you, have worn many hats while living and raising kids here: homeroom parent at Wade Thomas, basketball coach at St. Anselm and White Hill, creek cleanup volunteer, Memorial Park donor and volunteer, Breakers Soccer Club board member, snack shack volunteer, dance chaperone, and Drake basketball announcer, to name a few. Most recently I’ve become involved in Age Friendly San Anselmo and am part of their pilot program on Tamalpais Avenue to foster neighborhood connection and disaster preparedness.
I want to serve on the council to give back to the town that has given so much to me and my family. I’m committed to keeping San Anselmo the family friendly small town we all enjoy – what I call ‘Small for All.’ Toward this end, I’ll work to reinstate the Volunteer Program we once had, restore Memorial Park and playground, maintain open space, increase disaster preparedness, support local businesses and streamline town services.
I need you with me.
