P fest 5 is on November 4.

“Heard” is the new “word”.

This was Mrs Murphy’s Pub, the place I haunted on Crown St. in New Haven, Connecticut. It is here I first discovered the magic of Guinness paired with pistachios. If you ordered a pint of Guinness they automatically gave you a small tray of pistachios, I guess knowing you probably had Irish roots and were headlong into brooding in the cold weather. Anyway, the infamous Grotto was across the street and I usually would stop in here first to shoot the s**t before seeing Ben Vaughn combo or Alex Chilton or Jonathan Richmond, or the Reducers or whatever other great band was playing that night. So it’s true, Pistachios can even make the Irish smile occasionally.

Covid has trimmed our plans for Pistachio Fest 2, but we will still gather ever so socially distant at Billy’s and eat pistachios and drink some Guinness. A Fall combo made in heaven, to be sure.

We’re nuts for Guinness in the cooler weather!

Pistachio Fest 2 will still take place November 7, 2020. However, we are no longer honoring tickets purchased by people who have been disobeying stay at home orders or by persons with filthy hands. We will have Pistachios and Guinness soon, everybody. We are all in this together.
