🍂✨ Fall Taste Testing at Apple Valley Elementary! ✨🍁
Today was a delicious adventure as the fifth and third grade classrooms gathered for a fall taste test extravaganza! 🍎👩‍🍳 We had the pleasure of sampling two incredible recipes that were submitted to our culturally inclusive recipe contest: Butter Chicken and Beef Stroganoff. 🌍🍲 The flavors were diverse, rich, and absolutely mouthwatering!

But that's not all - our taste buds were also treated to a special chocolate chip pancake made with locally grown and milled flour from Cascade Milling in Royal City, WA. 🥞🌾 The use of local ingredients added a wonderful touch to the pancakes, making them a true taste of our community! 🏞️👨‍🌾

Cascade Organic Farms/Cascade Organic Flour is a family-owned producer of organic flour, organic wheat and organic dry beans.

Our Farms

Cascade Organic Farms has several thousand acres of certified organic irrigated farmland near the east slopes of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State.

We grow our wholesome organic crops (organic wheat, organic pinto beans, organic black beans, organic corn, etc.) with Columbia River water fed by mountain glaciers. Our modern irrigation system(s) delivers the most efficient amount of water which ensures consistent production and high yields of top quality organic crops on our farms. In fact, our yields of organic wheat, organic pinto beans, organic black beans, and organic corn are some of the highest in North America.

Additionally, the rich volcanic soil and perfect climate conditions along the east side of the Cascade Mountains provides the optimum mix of essential nutrients and an excellent natural environment for growing some of the best organic crops in the world. Moreover, our organic crops (organic wheat, organic pinto beans, organic black beans, etc.) are stored in state-of-the-art storage facilities, which allows us to have a year-round stable supply at affordable and consistent prices.

Our Organic Flour

We have a modern organic flour mill (Cascade Organic Flour) near our farm(s) in central Washington State. Cascade Milling/Cascade Organic Flour’s special milling system utilizes the entire organic whole grain wheat (grown at our organic farms) to produce healthy and natural organic flour(s). In particular, our highly efficient one-pass mill naturally processes the bran, germ, and other beneficial elements of our organic whole wheat in one-step into a very nutritious organic whole wheat flour.

The resulting organic whole wheat flour from Cascade Organic Flour’s mill contains more macronutrients, protein and vitamins than refined fortified white flour offered by traditional mills, which remove much of the protein and nutrients in the grain.

Furthermore, our organic flour is made up of much smaller particles and has similar functional, convenient and easy-baking qualities as white refined flour, while still retaining all of the natural beneficial nutrients, vitamins, minerals, fiber, bran, and germ of the whole grain.
