I'm not sure where folks are hearing it or who keeps saying that I'm closing down; but let me assure you this is not the case. The shop is closed on Tuesday and Thursday only so I can work w/out interruption.

And as a reminder hunting season is right around the corner. Don't wait till the last minute if you need something like a muzzle brake or just a good cleaning.

I took the M40A3 clone build out for some preliminary testing prior to final finish. I shot factory ammo through it, all 168 grn match 308 ammo from HSM, True velocity, and Hornaday. Below are the results. These are all 5 shot groups. I've have to give it to HSM and True velocity ammo, I was surprised at the Hornaday; I thought it would have done better. It might just be that this rifle combo dose not like that particular bullet load combo. I did shoot it twice just to ensure it wasn't shooter error. The only issue with the True velocity ammo is I had one cartridge fail to fire. In the end the HSM ammo shot the best, but only slightly better than True velocity

A day full of Cerakote

Every now and again a rifle comes in that defies logic.
This is an old Wickliffe 76 falling block rifle that came in to get rebarreled. It was a 25-06 and the customer wanted a 260 Re*****on to shoot targets with. Looking at the design and all the components that mount to the barrel I thought it would never shoot that well.
I have to say I was a little surprised at how it shot.
I used factory Federal Match ammo, you decide if rifle shoots or not.
