Here is an 8’0”, 2-piece/2-tip, 5-weight Custom Made blond bamboo fly rod #2199, made in our shop at Grizzly Bamboo Rods in Kalispell, Montana. The rod is custom made on a Paul Young (PHY) Parabolic 15 taper.

The rod has a RL up locking reel seat with a maple burl wood insert, a Fenwich style cork handle, a Struble Manufacturing stripper guide with a beautiful 10mm yellow agate, Snake Brand chrome guides all wrapped in a brilliant Red Orange 00 sized silk thread and tipped with a dark red 00 sized silk thread. The rod utilizes size 16 Rush River Nickel Silver Ferrules.

It has been lawn casted with Cortland Sylk 5 weight WF fly line in a 3 1/8” Hardy Perfect fly reel which perfectly balances the fly rod. It is very accurate to 30-35’ and has no problem reaching 70 feet without double hauling.

This fly rod comes with rod bag, rod tube, and our Guarantee. The rod will be shipped a PVC Tube to prevent damage during shipping.

All of our bamboo fly are made in our shop at Grizzly Bamboo Rods and are handcrafted , guaranteed and certified “Made in Montana”.

This little Small Stream Custom Built bamboo fly rod is 5’4”, 2/2, 2/3 weight. Burgundy silk wraps tipped Brown silk tipping. Ideal for those small, brushy streams and creeks.

This little bamboo rod came with a new Orvis Battenkill l fly reel. A balanced combination !!!!!

Another rebuild out the door!

Headed to New York…. 7’6”, 3/2, 3 Weight.

The rod had two short tips. One was 6 inches short and the other was 10 1/2” short. Thought about scarfing but with that it was easier to make new tips.
Made two new tips from measurements of old tips and measurements for taper from FE Thomas 3 weight taper. A beautiful little bamboo dry fly rod.
The rod cast beautifully with my Hardy Featherweight fly reel with Cortland 3 Weight DT Sylk fly line.

J S Sharpe Featherweight 7'6", 2/1, 5 Weight Split Cane Fly Rod                   

This is a 2-section impregnated rod and 7'-6" in length and designed to cast a 5 weight line. The rod number is 881:15. 

Chrome butt ring with snake intermediates and chrome end ring. Complete with bag.

In excellent condition. Sections are straight and correct length with a tight ferrules.

Here is a Galvan Brookie B3-4 (3-4wt) fly reel in Green. Reel is in EXCELLENT to IMMACULATE condition.

This reel has been very lightly used!!!!!! The only marks on the reel are on the reel feet and you have to look for them!
