After the severe storms yesterday, many are without power and dealing with major damages all throughout the Midwest. Being caught off guard and unprepared can just add stress and uncertainty to an already, possibly devastating situation.

Do you have a power down plan for cooking? Most of us have at least a few meals put away in the freezer. If you're a meat eater, you probably have a deep freeze full.

Keeping with my previous example of a week long power outage due to a tornado, what would your cooking options be? If gas lines are still intact and you have a gas stove/oven, you MIGHT be ok. If you're on propane and your tank and lines are intact, no worries. If you have grilling supplies and/or wood to last a full week for 3 meals, you're more prepared than most!

I made a solar oven and successfully cooked pork chops today. It definitely looks homemade and nothing like those fancy $400 ones, but it worked! Time was more like a Crock-Pot instead of an oven, but it worked! I am sharing a few pictures. I tried to make a video but it turned out terrible.
