In the matter of 1 week the pants were finally finished, the pockets added and sent to the lovely Olive of @funktionsofnature to finish off our trade🫶 I had only done one art trade before from someone I have known almost my whole life. To work out an art trade with someone I have followed for a while, and someone who is so kind and understanding was truly eye opening. I hope all artist can experience this feeling🫶 Also can’t forget to mention the pants look f**king amazing on them, sizing is very custom as there isn’t a bunch of stretch in the yarn. NOT MY NORMAL POST BUT STILL WORTH POSTING!! As a crafter, (and well anyone thats a millennial or younger) we are constantly looking down. Whether we’re looking at our knit/crochet project or doom scrolling through what we call social media. One thing I’ve noticed in the last couple years (especially now that I’m not as active), my posture absolutely sucks! I used to take a class back in high school with a modern dance teacher named Gail. On thing I will always remember will be the importance of your core muscles as well as your back and shoulders. She taught us what she called, “The Flat Back Series.” Just a series of movements to help strengthen you while correcting your bad posture. This is a very mellow version of one of out stretches. I have an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for those who enjoy the work that I put out. Thankful to spend many works masting craft and watching something come from nothing. This is what 2.5 hours of knitting looks like time lapsed. If only I could knit this fast. Blankets always take soo much longer due to the length but its all worth it in the end! So much progress this last week because for the first time ever I have consistently managed to knit for at least an hour everyday! Honestly super proud of myself for that and it definitely makes a huge difference on my mental health. Having a hobby that helps unwind and focus the mind at the end of the day is extremely healing. October has been a crazy month, in the beginning I had so many good intentions. I was going to: - Work crochet/knitting into my regular schedule - Start practicing yoga again regularly - Enjoy fall activities with my boyfriend - Get on top of my spending And that was just the begging… However thats not what happened and frankly it seems quite impossible to get on track before the end of the month and that’s okay. Next month im prioritizing myself, my art, and my relationship. NOTHIN’ BUT STRIPES & CLASSICAL Decided to work on the striped sweater vest I started last winter❄️ This is the front panel, I originally stopped knitting it due to lack of gray yarn or more the fear of the lack of yarn. Come to find out the black color I’m using was discontinued so the fears were misplaced at least for the colors.
