Great Plains Food Bank hosting 14 locations where kids can get summer meals The program will be operated at 14 sites across North Dakota, with some beginning distributions as early as May 28.

We are excitedly closing in on car donation #500. The real number is the countless lives these vehicles have impacted over the last eight years! Thank you for your support.

Car #485 has been donated! This van went to a lady working with the Jeremiah Program, Fargo-Moorhead.

In her words: "Over the course of several months, I have put in over $1600 dollars of work into my 2001 Ford Windstar van, well over its value. I have hoped this car would make it with me to my college graduation in 2025.

I am a nursing student at M-State. Unfortunately, the transmission has begun slipping. I asked the mechanic who recently fixed my car and he suggested I better start saving for a down payment- it is not worth fixing.

This car has served my family for 2.5 years. I have tried to fix it but now it will not make it much further. The check engine light is on again and I know it is a matter of time until it stops running. I do have a job, however, I cannot work enough hours to earn what it would cost to repair or replace this vehicle.

I am a single parent to three kids. As a single mom with no family, I truly have no other means to get around and achieve my goal to upward mobility for myself and my children, I have been without a vehicle once in the past and the costs associated with Uber, Lyft, or cabs are astronomical.

I have suffered congestive heart failure and maintain several appointments throughout the month to ensure my medications work as they should to avoid unnecessary health situations or death. Not being able to go to work and attend school, pick up/drop off my kids and maintain my medical appointments in a timely manner is stressful.

Being blessed with this vehicle will not only provide transportation, but that ability to become a nurse and achieve my goal will also serve as a testament to a hand up and push forward toward achieving my dream of disrupting poverty for my family. Someone once said poverty is not only having or lacking, it is not having choices.

I hope to pay it forward to others in the next chapter of my life."

It’s so exciting for this program to come to Minot, N.D.! There are so many people who face the burden of not having reliable transportation, and not living in a large metropolitan area with mass transit makes getting around more difficult. Thank you Souris Valley United Way and Minot Automotive Company for bringing this program to our community!

Wheels for Work keeps ND families on the road Souris Valley United Way and Minot Automotive are pairing up to give cars to families in need.

We are thrilled to share that we are now taking referrals for Family Services in Watford City!

This program promotes positive family management and addresses child and adolescent adjustment problems. To be eligible for Family Services:

🧡 Children are between 2-17
🧡 Children still live in the home of the caregiver
🧡 Children have an IEP, truancy issues, behavioral adjustment concerns at home or in school
