I am super excited to share my 2024 Calendar release with you!

“Dogs I Have Known” has been so much fun to create. It has brought me great pleasure to try to capture their personalities in their individual paintings!If you or someone you know is a dog lover, this is sure to bring them a lot of joy through out the next year.

The calendars are a desktop tent style,
6 x 8”, wire coil bound.
The pages are an artistic soft white to compliment the paintings and have a lovely matte finish. The weight of the pages is perfect, sturdy without being too heavy, light but not flimsy. They are just right.

Last week hubby and I were hiking in Utah. (Highly recommend, btw). We were making our ascent out of a canyon climbing rocks and sweating, and we came around a bend to discover this lone plant growing in a crack in a rock.
The sun was hitting it just perfectly to illuminate it against the shadowy larger rocks in the back ground. It was so perfectly graphic at that moment! The simple beauty of this plant standing tall in such a harsh environment really got my attention.
While sketching it out this evening, I was playing with different backgrounds to try to capture the stark simplicity of this sturdy little plant.
As you flip through the different renditions, notice how the background color affects the sketch of the plant and the capacity to convey the graphic simplicity of it.

Also, I am sure there is a philosophical/spiritual analogy in there somewhere. 🤔 My brain is just too tired to connect any dots tonight.

The foliage all around is starting to have a fall vibe to it, and I love it!!
Did a quick watercolor sketch last night of some foliage I’ve seen that is fading and turning color. The changes are so subtle sometimes. That’s the beauty of nature. 🍂🥰

September is in full swing! I always think of sunflowers in September. They are a perfect transitional flower between summer and fall.
This digital watercolor sunflower note card would be perfect to send to a teacher to encourage them, or to an elderly person to cheer them up! Who doesn’t love a simple bouquet of flowers that won’t wilt?! 🙋‍♀️

As I catch my flight home this morning after a week with my elderly parents, who are struggling with a whole plethora of health issues, I prayed this over them. Aging is rough and is sometimes anxiety producing for them. Seemed like the perfect verse to pray over them.
I pray this for you as well today!

Anybody else getting a hardcore workout today?!
I know I am! ☕️It’s Thursday but it’s kind of feeling like Monday on repeat. 🙃

Played around with some new brushes from last night!
It was a very relaxing exercise, which I desperately needed.

Brushes used were from the Magic Mixer Brush set. I think I tried them all here. They were great to use!
