Travel is important for everyone, ESPECIALLY black people. Travelling While Black has increased over the past 5 - 10 years, which is great! But still, only about 17% of us leave the country. So here are 5 reasons why black travel is important:
1. The World learns more about us.
Encountering prejudice while away from home is a common concern, but the world needs to learn about us firsthand, and not just some archetype that they’ve seen on T.V.
2. Mental and Physical Health
Our bodies release “feel-good” hormones when we vacation. Even the memory of a vacation can lower our stress levels for years to come, which is good for the body and the soul.
3. It Brings us closer to our loved ones
Experiencing a journey together, has the ability to create a special bond. This is why honeymoons, family vacations, girls trips, etc, are so appealing.
4. Enrichment
The experiences you gain from travelling is priceless and it leads to a healthier, happier, more self actualized life.
