In the wake of Tysean J. Nelson’s tragic passing on June 30, 2021, his family, friends, and community were left in mourning. Tysean, an athlete, student, and beloved community member, had dreams and ambitions that extended far beyond his years.

Among his aspirations was the creation of a brand—Hardbodyy—a testament to his resilience, strength, and unwavering spirit.

Watching you carry yourself with such grace and strength is an inspiration in itself. I’ve watched you sacrifice so much since I was a child to give your son the world. From working multiple jobs and many long hours there’s nothing you wouldn’t do for Mr. Nelson.

If no one tells you I will continue to remind you just of how great a mother you were and still are. The way to care for Tysean’s son, the way you care for everyone around you … there’s no doubt that God has something major in store for your life. It has been a tough for years for us but God is so faithful. You continue to smile, you continue to cook and serve and you continue to give everyone your best. Thank You.

When I think back on all our memories from Miami to Dover and beyond I can’t help but smile. You and my mom have shown me what it means to be a resilient woman and I thank you for that.

You truly are a blessing and I promise you to give you the world just as your son wanted.
