Starting my 39th year as an educator in AZ. If you ask me what is my why, it is days like today when the students return. Thirty-nine years of working with amazing students and staff. Not a better job in the world. J. O. Combs USD making a positive difference in our students lives.

Nothing like starting a new school year in with grilling for the staff. A fun way to welcome back staff and thank them in advance for the positive difference they will make this year in the lives of our students. Remember educators do make a positive difference.

Thank you to the American Legion Post 97 for their generous donation this morning to pay off the lunch debt of our students. Their donation of $1,464.71 is appreciated. This demonstrates a community coming together to take care of all our students. We thank the members of the American Legion Post 97 for their service and their kindness.

In Arizona each March the Auditor General releases a report on traditional public schools and how they spend public tax dollars. Thanks QC Suntimes for allowing me to share some thoughts on the report and the limitation of the report. The true story is Arizona traditional public schools spend public tax dollars where they should be spent .... on our students.
Combs’ commitment to responsible use of public tax dollars Every March, the Arizona Auditor General releases a report called “Arizona School District Spending,” which has been released annually since 2000. This report describes a detailed analysis of how traditional school districts spend their allocated funds.

Last night at our Board meeting we recognized Jennifer Francisco from Matthew's Crossing Food Bank as our volunteer of the month. Thank you for caring about our families and students.
