Tuesday Tips: Return Air Vents

🌟You’ve probably been told to replace your air filter every 2-3 months, but you can replace your filters as needed. There are various factors that influence how often you should replace your filters (type of filter, air quality, pets, smoke, etc.).

🌟Keep your return grill clean. A dirty grill will restrict airflow.

🌟Don’t block your vents because it forces your system to work harder and can cause issues with your system.

🌟Be mindful of your filter micron rating because too much restriction can cause airflow issues and your unit won’t perform properly. The smaller the micron rating, the faster the filter fills up. Most people like to upgrade their filter for different reasons like allergies, asthma, and viruses.

By choice, some individuals opt for space heaters but space heaters are commonly used when the primary heating system is insufficient, unavailable, or when installing or operating central heating is too expensive. In some cases space heaters are used to heat one room.

Here are a few Electrical Safety Tips about space heaters to help you power through this freeze:

🔌To prevent breaker trips, consider relocating a space heater to another room on a different circuit to avoid overloading and tripping.

🔌Ensure space heaters are placed on a stable, flat surface to prevent tipping. We recommend using the space heaters with a tip-over safety switch, which automatically shut off when tipped over.

🔌Keep them away from potential fire hazards and children.

🔌If possible, personally visit your elderly family members and friends; they may not vocalize problems, and checking ensures they have adequate heating.

Howdy Neighbors,

Inviting all high school junior and senior students to attend an informative and educational discussion about considering a career as a tradesman.

Come learn more about how you could benefit from learning a trade and working with your hands in one of the many aspects of general maintenance and repair.

There will be light refreshments and drinks along with goodie bags for the first 50 attendees! Door prizes will also be given away throughout the event, with the grand prize being a 32” flat screen HDTV (must be present to win)!

Trade Talks is hosted by M.A.R.C.S. Appliance Repair of College Station. Speakers will include local trade contractors in the HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general maintenance industries. They will discuss the specifics of their trades.
