We are actively hiring DSPs for our Portland location.
Our Residential Program offers adult individuals the opportunity to live in a supportive home setting staffed by Direct Support Professionals. We understand that people need more than just a place to live; they need a home and natural supports. Our Direct Support Professionals and Team Leader work with our consumers, their families, and other service providers to promote independence and inclusion in the community.
If you would enjoy supporting and mentoring adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to engage and connect to their own communities, and would enjoy teaching them skills to live a more independent life, you are a great candidate for this DSP caregiver position!
DSPs support adult consumers with community inclusion, building natural relationships, daily living skills including budgeting, meal prep, housekeeping, grocery shopping, decision-making, transportation, and personal support.

We provide paid Direct Support Professional training and certification, as well as CPR, First Aid, and more.
DSP and CRMA certifications are not required prior to hire.
Schedule:
This position is full-time (36 to 40 hours weekly)
Part-time (16-32 hours weekly)
Pay: $16.00 to $17.00 hourly
DSP without CRMA $16.00/hour
DSP with CRMA $16.50/hour
Team Leader $18.00
Quarterly bonus: $500 for eligible staff (must be full-time staff)
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license
• Use of reliable vehicle with current insurance
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification, or willingness to complete certification, required
• Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) credential, or willingness to complete it, required
• Must be comfortable providing personal care to adult consumers with special needs
• Good physical strength; able to bend, lift and stand
• This position is considered a Health Care Provider position by the State of Maine. Health Care Providers are required by the State of Maine to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, or evidence of vaccination in-process required for hire.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee consumers' emotional, physical and cognitive well-being.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for the consumers.
• Assist in developing plans (meal planning/activity planning) and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum to progress towards desired goals and community inclusion.
• Must be able to understand and effectively implement the behavior plan for the consumer.
• Assist the consumers in building personal relationships with people outside the program and family.
• Ensure proper medical attention through both wellness activities as well as appropriate contact with medical services during periods of illness/acute injury.
• Assist in implementing all medical and medication procedures prescribed by medical providers.

Shared Living Providers
Hope community Support Services is seeking dynamic individuals throughout Maine, who would like to positively impact lives as the primary caregiver for an adult with special needs
Pay Rate for a Shared Living Provider:
• $40,000.00/year (tax-free reimbursement)
• Additional $500.00 to $700.00/month (room & board reimbursement)
• $500 sign-on bonus

About the Role of a Shared Living Provider:
As a Hopecss' Shared Living Provider:
• You are the primary caregiver to an adult with developmental disabilities and care for the adult within your own home
• You provide transportation, oversee medical appointments, medication administration and direct care. This program is an alternative to group home living
• You will be a key member of the Shared Living Program working independently and cooperatively with the support of a treatment team.
We invest in you and provide you with on-going training and 24/7 on-call support.
We will teach you the skills and strategies needed to be successful.
Key Qualifications of a Shared Living Provider:
• Individuals and couples are welcome to apply
• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required
o Higher education preferred
• Valid Maine driver's license and auto insurance required
• Flexible schedule required
