Let's start with Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), a crucial load performance metric. To optimize LCP, ensure the resource is discoverable from the HTML source. Over 70% of mobile pages have an image as the LCP element, so make sure the image loads quickly and is discoverable to avoid delays.

Next, prioritize the LCP resource to avoid queuing behind less important resources. You can use the fetchpriority="high" attribute on the or tag to instruct the browser to load it earlier. This simple tweak can significantly improve LCP!

Use a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to optimize Time to First Byte (TTFB). CDNs distribute your resources to edge servers globally, reducing the distance content has to travel to users and speeding up page loads.

Moving on to Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), a measure of visual stability. Set explicit sizes on content loaded from the page, especially for images, to avoid layout shifts. The aspect-ratio property can help with this.

Make sure your pages are eligible for the browser's back/forward cache (bfcache) to eliminate layout shifts during page load. This free win in web performance can significantly improve user experience!

Avoid animations or transitions that use layout-inducing CSS properties to prevent layout shifts. Prefer animations using the CSS transform property for better performance.

Lastly, let's address First Input Delay (FID), a measure of a page's responsiveness. Avoid or break up long tasks that block the main thread from responding to user interactions quickly.

Keep JavaScript usage in check by removing unused code and consider code splitting to reduce the initial load size. Also, ensure large rendering updates don't interfere with user inputs.

By focusing on these recommendations, you can boost your website's Core Web Vitals performance in 2023!
