Aun recuerdo cuando nos querían cerrar el “mercadito” como muchos le llaman y ella lucho por su sueño y el de nosotros sus vendedores 🥹 y miren ahora ella al igual que nosotros los vendedores super contentos por este nuevo logro 🙌 Siempre estaré inmensamente agradecida con Tina Lopez por verme dado la oportunidad de comenzar formalmente con mi pequeño negocio en La Cocina-The Kitchen 🙏 Dios la bendiga siempre. ❤️

Tonight I had the honor of joining the team from or Blue Zones, as they helped La Cocina, an outdoor food market in King City, cut a ribbon demarcating their achievement of becoming the first blue zones inspired market in Monterey County. Mayor Mike LeBarre and I helped mark the occasion with some words and certificates, but the real work was done by the vendors. Twelve of them now have Blue Zones certified meal options.

I thought the pastor tacos were just introducing themselves when they said “Soy Pastor Tacos” but in fact they were plant based and delicious. I didn’t just stick with the certified options, I also had some plant based Churros.

The fact is that this market was born from the end of another about six years ago. A closure that forced four food vendors to assess whether or not their businesses were viable. Tina stepped up and stepped in and created this market for them and it has flourished. They have even had vendors go on to fill brick and mortar operations. It is an informal incubator that allows dreams to be tested and hustlers to make their visions come to life. I am proud of where and who I come from and this is just another small brick in the legend my Mom builds. She always tells me when she grows up she will figure out what she really wants to do, but I’m already in awe of all she has done. I’m proud of her tonight, proud of the dozen vendors making their dreams come true and honored to join friends and colleagues in celebrating them tonight.

Buenas tardes 🤗 hoy en La Cocina - The Kitchen se llevara acabo una ceremonia/presentación porque oficialmente seremos parte de Blue Zone (Zona Azul) y la primera marketa al aire que se convertirá en zona azul en el condado de Monterey. 🙏 tal vez mucha gente no este enterada de que es lo que significa zonas azules pero yo les dejo un resume corto. Se trata de proveer comidas mas saludables. Por lo tanto en La Chave Birria Antojos nos dimos a la tarea de crear estos tacos a base de proteina de planta y perfeccionar el sabor para que ni ustedes se den cuenta que no es carne 😁. Plant based pastor protein tacos 🌮😋. Ahora La Chave Birria Antojos aparte de todas las otras opciones de carne tambien contaremos con tacos de pastor basados en proteína a base de planta! Vengan los invitamos a que los prueben les aseguro que no notaran la diferencia y sera una forma saludable de poner disfrutar unos deliciosos tacos. 😋😋😋.
