Diets that eliminate entire categories of food (like keto, Atkins, carnivore, vegan, etc.) are often used to provide relief from GI issues. Removing the foods that cause upset is an ideal first step.
But just because the symptoms disappear doesn't automatically mean that everything is fixed - unless your goal is to stay restricted forever, odds are high, you'll need to take more steps to help your gut heal so you can reintroduce a wider variety of foods again without causing more flare-ups.

On paper, most nutrition approaches will work nearly the same for weight loss and fat loss as long as you: ✔️ match the calories ✔️ match the protein Some will work better than others in practice if they're easier for you to adhere to over more than a week or two. Feel free to use whatever method you prefer - low carb, carb cycling, keto, Paleo, vegan, whatever - but don't run around demanding that everyone else MUST do the same thing to get results. One of the first things lots of guys do when trying to build muscle is constantly add more food any time their weight begins to stall. While it's normal to need more calories, extra calories don't do much good if you aren't giving them a job to do with your training. Before you add more food, are you: ➡️ Training hard enough? Are you reaching technical or muscular failure, or stopping when things just start to get uncomfortable? ➡️ Training regularly enough? If your plan involves four days of lifting but you regularly miss 1-2 days you can't expect to be making progress. ➡️ Recovering enough? If you're on the flip side and spend 2+ hours every day in the gym, are you training so frequently and with so much volume that you're not allowing any time for recovery to happen? ➡️ Being repetitive enough? You're not "shocking" your muscles into growth by giving it a new workout every time, and if you never repeat workouts, you can't tell if what you're doing is actually working. ➡️ Patient enough? If you think it's normal to gain 2-3lbs of muscle per month on a regular basis, you're going to be disappointed when you aren't 400lbs of pure muscle after 10 years in the gym. Before you look to eat more, make sure you're hitting all the right notes on your training first. Not sure if you're training correctly? I happen to know somebody who could probably help with that. #allstrengthtraining #musclegain #beastmode #mensfitness #weightgain #nutrition #bodybuilding
We're officially one month away from New Year's Resolution season, which means that millions of resolutions will be decided... on December 31, at 11:59pm. Possibly while severely inebriated. 90% of those will fail before January is over. OR... You could start thinking about what goals you want to accomplish NOW, but more importantly, start working out the kinks in how exactly you're going to do that. ❓️When are you going to the gym? ❓️What's your go-to when a sweet craving hits you? ❓️Do you actually have any idea how to cook the food you're going to be eating without it tasting like a piece of cardboard wiped on the inside of a dumpster? @lukeleaman from @musclenerds_education calls this "Prepping to Prep," and it all boils down to putting yourself in a good position to start the process when it's time, without scrambling at the last second because you didn't put enough thought into it ahead of time. Get your actions in order now so you can control the outcome later. #allstrengthtraining #nutrition #goalsetting #newyearsresolutions #menshealth #womenshealth
The language we use matters more than I think we give it credit for. ❌️ "I can't" - someone (or something) else is forcing me not to do this, even though I really want to do it. ✔️ "I won't" or "I'm not going to" - I'm actively making the decision not to do this, even if I really might really want to do it. Choosing to take a more active role in the process can be one of the most impactful things you can do. It doesn't automatically guarantee success, but knowing that the decisions you're making are for yourself and not somebody else can make success infinitely more rewarding when it does happen. #allstrengthtraining #nutrition #goalsetting #newyearsresolutions #menshealth #womenshealth
Many people are waking up this morning regretting how "off track" they got over the weekend and are planning some combination of: 🔸️calorie restriction 🔸️incredibly high calorie expenditure 🔸️internal dialogue that includes words like "failure," "f**k-up," or "fat ass" Instead of giving in to the temptation to start another perpetual cycle of punishment and fixating on the calories your watch says you're burning, I would encourage you to try to take advantage of the performance benefit you'll probably feel from: ✅️ using more weight ✅️ getting extra reps ✅️ shortening rest periods ✅️ trying something a little more challenging For many people, it's a very hard mindset to shift, but everyone has to start somewhere, and today's probably a pretty good day to give it a shot. #allstrengthtraining #mindset #nutrition #menshealth #womenshealth #performancefirst
Instead of needlessly avoiding everything you actually want to eat today, try following these tips on #turkeyday. And for the love of all that's holy, please say no to low carb cheesecake 🤮 #Thanksgiving #healthyeating #holidayeating #nutritionseminar
