We are seeking a skilled and experienced Residential Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with the ability to construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood and other materials. You will work on a variety of residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
-Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements.
-Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials to construct frameworks, structures, and fixtures.
-Install structures such as windows, doors, cabinetry, and flooring.
-Perform repairs on existing structures.
-Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time and within budget.
-Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
-Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
-Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications:
-Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in residential construction.
-Proficient in using hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and nail guns.
-Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
-Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
-Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
-Good physical condition and stamina.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-High school diploma or equivalent

This master bath reno turned our beautiful and the tile work was definitely the crown 😯

We love bathroom and kitchen remodels but we’ve been doing less and less of them as our commercial workload is growing. This one definitely took us back to our roots of where we started ❤️

Our condolences to the family of Sgt Conrad and the entire Columbia PD

With great sadness, the Columbia Police Department reports the passing of Sgt. Michael Conrad. Sgt. Conrad has been battling cancer and passed away Monday evening at his house surrounded by his loved ones.
Sgt. Conrad began his Law Enforcement career at the Dupo Illinois Police Department in 1997. Sgt Conrad became a member of the Columbia Police Department on June 1st, 1999, where he served until his passing.
In 2005, Conrad was promoted to Sergeant. Sgt. Conrad performed many duties within the Columbia Police Department including Patrol Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Field Training Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Administrative Sergeant, Evidence Custodian, S*x Offender Registration Officer and served on the Police Pension Board among many other roles and tasks at CPD.
Sgt. Conrad had a diverse and extensive career in law enforcement, with involvement in various task forces and units aimed at combating crime. His experience with the Metro East Auto Theft Task Force (MEATF), the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis, and the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southwestern Illinois (MEGSI) was intricate in solving a broad range of criminal activity throughout the Metro East and Greater St. Louis area. With his dedication and leadership within the organization, he climbed through the ranks and eventually became the Deputy Commander at MEGSI.
The Columbia Police Department sends prayers and well wishes to Conrad’s family and friends, especially to his wife Laurie and his two daughters, Sophie and Morgan. “Mike you will ALWAYS be loved by all of us at CPD and you will ALWAYS be a member of the CPD family!”

Finished up the full remodel of two park restroom buildings this week. We appreciate the City of Lake St Louis for choosing us to do this project.

The restrooms are now ADA compliant, have all new plumbing fixtures, new toilet partitions, new epoxy quartz floors, new automatic entry control, and a complete repaint of the interior and exterior.

Just in time for baseball season, these new bathrooms are ready to go ⚾️

This is the first flitch plate beam we have had to install on a project, but it was necessary to install this 8ft tall and 15ft wide patio door. Yes, we said 15ft wide‼️
This beam consists of a 1” thick steel plate sandwiched between two wooden LVL beams. If you’re wondering what that weighs….about 750 lbs. Even though this change request came after framing, we made it happen 🪄

Almost finished with the deck facelift. What started out as a simple deck and siding facelift, turned into a structure repair. As the old finishes came off we discovered numerous problems with work done by the previous contractor. New deck beams, ceiling beams, and one piece posts and thus elevated deck will be beautiful and safe for years to come. ☀️🌻

Time to head in for the next commercial project meeting…..🍻

Where do we begin with this one?! Claire Thebeau made a major impact on us all from day one! When she reached out to us, not even knowing if we were looking for another designer or not, we knew she was one we needed to add to our team. The email showed us she had the "go-getter" attitude we needed.

Since then, we have learned that she is caring, compassionate and dedicated. She will always lend a helping hand and not give up until the job is done. To know her, is to love her. She is definitely the missing puzzle piece we were looking for!🙌🏼

She is hardworking and has become Taylor's partner in crime. I can't say whether that is a good or bad thing...the laughs out of them can be mischievous and concerning at times. But those 2 together make the dream team!🙃😈

Corie has been with us since June of 2022 & has been such an important part of the KB team. Her dedication and hardwork is unmatched. No matter the task, she takes it on with a smile. Corie has been not only a great addition to the work place but has become an amazing friend!

If you have been to our office, we know you’ve probably met Corie. While she’s not on job sites much, she’s behind the scenes making sure every job runs as efficiently as possible!
