ICYMI: New research, based on information from the European Space Agency's (ESA) CryoSat mission, found that "Mountain glaciers worldwide lost 2,720 gigatonnes of ice between 2010 and 2020." For perspective, just a single gigatonne is equivalent to 10,000 fully-loaded U.S. aircraft carriers.

According to the research, 89% of that loss is due to higher air temperatures.

With the mission of the organization in mind, I want to say, I am well aware that this will take quite a bit of time to grow and make any impact at all. It is in its infancy, but the sky is the limit. Even the small initial investments and maintenance, will take a long time to be recovered.

However, over time, with patience, marketing, advertising, and building a reputation, this endeavor does have the potential to make an impact on the environmental issues we are facing. When it REALLY grows, over time, and as we employ different outreach strategies, then the ECC has potential to actually make some sort of impact. In the very least, it gives people a chance to donate easily and know their money is going to the right places, to help out, in any mount.

This page has also provided a great lens on the terrible reality that many people think climate change is a hoax. Beyond all reason, they believe this and other charities of a similar nature are scams. You do you, but maybe do some deeper research. All I'm saying is, for sure, CO2 emissions are accelerating changes in our climate, effecting many types of life, as well as our environment and air quality. Strap in for another hot Summer.

I'm a skeptic of all things as a rule and believe in "impossible" things (like humanity actually surviving this crisis). However, what I have experienced throughout my life, observing the weather, and the obvious scientific data, numbers, patterns in climate, broken records... it is obvious to anyone who can do any proper research that humanity is affecting, exacerbating, and accelerating the changes in our environment and climate. It is having major and devastating effects already, particularly on wildlife and certain areas of the globe.~
