The last several months have been a doozy. Relying on my God — in His Easter Glory — to pull me through every single day..because every single day I need pulling.

St. Bernadette is my confirmation Saint. It was about darn time I painted her! I think the Holy Spirit wanted to remind me I can call on her to lead me through difficult days, too. This painting is for me.

St. Mary Magdalene, pray for us.

Maybe my most requested Saint and definitely one of my personal favorites. A story of complete surrender, beautiful humility, and perfect friendship with the Lord.

This beauty was painted for the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Retreat Center in Stillwater, OK. If you want to see it in person, it’ll be hanging in the bedroom dedicated to Mary of Magdala. Maybe you can stay in her room and pray with her while on retreat 😍 I’ll have prints available so soon!!

I love to put together unique commissions for clients! Last weekend I got to do this one for my fave client — my husband! It’s hanging in his *new* office. He wanted a creative combination of his THREE alma maters! He finished his double masters this spring (at *my* alma mater!) and I’m forever grateful and proud of him for his hard work.

There’s a group of women I’ve come to know and love over the last 6 months. We stay up way too late every other Monday night and sort out the problems of the week with a hot cup of tea and a baby or two in laps.

Right before Kolby was born, we had a long discussion about chores..probably initiated by my 8-month-pregnant self complaining about dishes yet again. These mama friends giggled and commiserated over which chores we could not stand to do, and which we didn’t mind doing. A silly discussion on cleaning a house eventually turned to making a home.

I told them about a little statue of Mary I have next to my kitchen sink. She’s sweeping. She has a peaceful look on her face, and she’s simply sweeping. I love it! It makes me stop and think about the simple, secret, hidden lives of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. When I let it, my Mary reminds me to offer up my chores for my family. This is the apostolate I’m called to live right now - wife-hood and motherhood.

There is only one perfect example of both.

Mary probably swept her simple home.
Mary probably hung her linens up to dry with a toddler Jesus running around her feet.
Mary probably washed the dishes after she and Joseph shared a meal together.

The Holy Family lived a simple life and made a home together.

That’s where this series comes from - let us lean into Mary’s example of making home (and doing so without complaining).

God, let me serve my family like Mary today. Amen.

A bishop responsible for the conversion of many, this was a special commission for a man entering the Church at Easter! I will never get over how special it is to be a part of celebrations as big as that.

St. Thomas Aquinas

Help us to strive for holiness the way St. Thomas Aquinas did. Nothing is necessary in this life except a friendship with Christ. He is all that matters. We must ask for Him, desire Him, seek Him above all things.

This is my first new piece in the new year. I started this painting last Fall and got caught up in the busyness of the season and the shop. Here I rested. I focused on the time and prayer it took to create this painting. I wanted to finish him in time for his feast day, and I’m proud that I did!

How it started vs. how it's going 😍

This is better than I could have ever imagined! I came up with the idea of prayer card rings with all sorts of people in mind..but mamas and daddies were at the top of the list!

We met Lacie last week at Seek and she sent this to me the night she got home to her baby boy. *cue instant tears*

What a beautiful way to pray together, to teach him about Jesus, and to connect as a family during nighttime prayers. Thank you for sharing, friend!
