CRF’s Semi-Private Personal Training is a unique fitness service that combines the customized approach of our private training services with the energy and cost savings of our small group fitness classes. You will train with like-minded individuals in a healthy & safe training environment.
What’s included:

• Sessions are done under the supervision of your trainer in small group setting (4-8 clients per coach)

How did you hear about CRF?
April 2021 I saw my neighbor trying to get out of her car. I asked if she was ok and she stated that she was back to working out with this trainer she had known for 10 plus years. I told her that I wanted to try the class. She looked at me sideways but gave me the information. Lol
Why did you choose CRF?
CRF picked me. I went to class and everyone was encouraging. CRF met me where I was and let me build from there. It did not matter what level others were on. CRF let me get good at my level and then pushed me forward.
How long have you been training with CRF?
I’ve been with CRF for 2 years and 3 months.
What physical space were you in when you started your fitness journey with CRF?
I was scared. I had just been approved for weight loss surgery (gastric sleeve) and did not want to let myself believe it was going to work just magically. I knew that I needed something going forward that I would use for long term weight management. I didn’t want to be “skinny” I only wanted to be healthy and move around better. I did not want my weight to be my death. It’s happened in my family right in front of me and I was scared for myself and loved ones if I didn’t get healthy. My husband and I have been trying for children and it’s been tough. Fertility doctors do not work with obese women and that’s just the bottom line. I had to make a change and it needed to be with everything not just surgery.
What mental space were you in when you started your fitness journey with CRF?
I was terrified. I was big! I was over 350lbs! I acted like it didn’t matter but it did. I thought death was my next option. I had no “health problems” that some might have at that size, but felt I was on borrowed time. I would have panic attacks about dying and my mom or husband finding me. I didn’t want food to be the death of me. It’s also easy for me to focus on others and now I had to focus on me to be successful. It was not a fun time.
What have been the biggest changes physically and mentally for you since you started with CRF?
My energy levels. I’ve never needed caffeine to get going but CRF is my caffeine, Lol. My anxiety is low now. I don’t have panic attacks like I used to and when I feel myself getting “off” I like to push myself to go to my CRF class and just make it through the workout. It may not be my best workout but my goal is to keep moving! Just like Dory. “Just keep swimming”
What are your future fitness goals??
I started with no goal. I didn’t have a goal weight for surgery. They said I could lose up to 100 pounds and I was ok so that’s what it would be. As I passed that mark I started to see that I could do this and that I was doing it. My 1st real goal was to be under 250lbs, then it was 200lbs. I’m 188 and have lost 179 from my highest weight recorded. Now I want be able to do a pull up. I want to do a 1 arm push-up. I want to upgrade to 25 pound dumbbells. I want to run a 12 minute mile. I want to bench press 80 pounds. I want to dead lift 100 pounds. I want to hike. I want zip line. I want to sit in a chair and not worry how much it can hold. I don’t want to think about weight limits on rides or elevators. I want to do it all. I want to love myself at every step because that was lacking and I’ve gained that by just asking my neighbor why she was walking funny! Thank you CRF!!
