Kellan Keane: Sophomore

It's been awhile since I've posted! I'm not the biggest fan of social media, but I wanted to spotlight Kellan Keane. With most kids playing sports year round it's hard for them to commit long term in the gym, but that's what Kellan did. When we first started working together his 8th grade year he was doing two 10lb weights on a Smith Machine, and pretty much just the bar for most of his workouts. Slowly he worked his weight up. In the past 5 months he stayed consistent, and never missed a day. Here are his numbers from the beginning of Summer to today.
Bench Press: 95lbs/Now: 160lbs
Dumbell Press: 30lbs/Now: 60lbs
Squat: 115lbs/ Now: 185lbs
Body weight beginning of Summer: 115lbs/Now: 132lbs
We set goals of a 135 pound bench, and 15 pounds of body weight....He exceeded both. His transformation has been fun to witness first hand, and we're just getting started. Working out is a marathon not a race. It takes a lot of time and commitment. Couldn't be more proud of him!

I love training my kids, but I love watching them play the sports they love, and see the success they have on the field! So far all of them have been excelling, some even making the news already! Seeing their hard work pay off is the main reason I do what I do.....Could not be more proud of them. I have a new group kids I'm working with this Fall, and started working with adults as well. Can't wait to see their transformations as we move forward!
With School/Sports starting, today was my last workouts with some of my guys until Fall is over! I could not be more proud of the time, and dedication these kids put in this Summer to get to the next level in their athletic careers. I wanted to give a shoutout to all of them who participated consistently over this past year. The progress they have made far exceeded my expectations.

If you haven't heard of these kids, you will in the very near future. I was blessed to train such great athletes, and can't thank their parents enough for putting their trust in me to work with them. Last but not least, thank you to Xtreme Power and Fitness here in Kewanee for giving me a place to work with my guys.
Love training my kids, but I enjoy watching them perform even more! I will be posting photos, and the accolades they all accomplished from this past year. It's great to see all of their hard work pay off on the field/court! Glad to get them back in the gym now that sports are starting slow down. 💪

Alex has been working with me for the past 8 months! Some kids buy into the system, and some do not....Alex bought in immediately. These numbers were attained through high reps of 12-16. We max out once every few months just to find progressions, but other than that never lift heavy. What sets him apart from others is his dedication to Nutrition outside of the gym. He eats what he needs to, and also goes to the gym himself twice a week on top of 3 days with me. He was just named to the All State team this year in basketball, and is also a standout Football player. His work ethic is second to none. If you haven't heard of him yet, you will in the very near future. More of my featured athletes to come!
One of the most overlooked footwork drills is the jump rope. Not only does it help footwork, but also creates quickness and coordination! These guys couldn't do two revolutions in a row when we started, now they can do the Ali shuffle in their sleep!
Weights are half the battle. Resistance bands are your best friend. The more weight put on, more than likely the slower your footwork is going to get. That's where these come into play. With the kids finally back playing I'm going to upload a bunch of videos from these past few months! Phone took terrible videos so bare with me 😅

This is my Monday-Wedn-Friday 5pm crew. When sports were postponed they didn't give up and pick up a different hobby....They decided to get better. 4 months ago we set goals, and they far exceeded them.
Coltin Quagliano- 18 months
Weight: 155lbs- Now- 180lbs
Bench: 185lbs- Now- 225×4
Tuk Miller- 4 months
Weight- 190lbs- Now- 214lbs
Bench- 180lbs- Now- 225×2
Kale Nelson- 4 months

The idea isn't just putting on mass, it's the easiest measurable. Our workouts consist of speed training mixed in with heavy lifting as well. A lot of the training we do contain athletic movements so they can keep their athleticism, but also add size and strength. At the end we normally do speed/agility training to cap off the workout. Couldn't be more proud of these guys. Over the next few weeks I will be posting more photos of the other kids I train and their progressions! So I've decided to make a page for my Personal Training business out of XPF here in Kewanee Illinois! On here I will be posting videos of workouts with some of my kids, new workouts to try at home, and motivational videos/quotes each week. Instead of sitting at home while no sports have been going on, these kids made the decision to get better.....I will update you on who they are, and the progress that they have made over these past few months.
