South Dakota Doulas, in collaboration with SD DOH and Childbirth Support Specialists, trained TWENTY birth and postpartum doulas from across the state!

These doulas are now seeking experience! They are well trained AND supported by other professionals... They just need to get some births/postpartum under their belts before they can be certified.

If you are seeking out a doula for birth or postpartum, please reach out and we can connect you with a doula in your area!

While we strongly encourage these doulas to not give away their services for free, many are charging less than more experienced doulas, in order to become experienced doulas.

Yesterday marked the start of Perinatal Nurses Week. 66Gs play a vital role in the health and well-being of mothers and their newborns, providing exceptional care supporting families through pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period.

In addition, obstetric/gynecologic
nursing duties incorporate medical–surgical and perioperative nursing skills crucial for the go–to–war healthcare environment.

Supporting all who have experienced the loss of a baby, tonight is a wave of light. My light will be on, I encourage all to do the same.

No one can begin to imagine what it feels like to lose a baby. Tonight we stand with everyone who has suffered, and remember every little life that has passed. 💔

How utterly incredible to even have this opportunity to potentially make the difference of more support and better birth for families in our area through the support of our amazing doulas on the Brookings Health System doula team!

Tomorrow and Saturday history will be made. Childbirth Support Specialists in cooperation with South Dakota Doulas and the SD Department of Health will hold the very first doula training for future SD Medicaid Provider Birth and Postpartum Doulas 🎉🙌 Imagine the women and families who will now have the opportunity for support, and the dynamic doulas who will provide it.
