Are you coming to see the Rep Term shows? If so, here's some important information:

1. All visitors to campus must provide proof of vaccination against Covid-19, including any appropriate boosters (paper vaccination card or photo copy). No Exceptions!

2. Seating for "Dear Elizabeth" is very limited - Arrive early, or reservations can be made in advanced by calling the theatre office (and leaving a clear message) at 309-341-7472

Our final ReConnect is with Kathleen Dickinson ‘09!

Kathleen Dickinson is an Equity Stage Manager working for A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago. She graduated from Knox in 2009 with a major in theater and minor in creative writing. After graduation, she moved to Chicago where she worked as an SM/ASM for several storefront theatres. In 2012 Kathleen applied for the Stage Management Apprenticeship at Steppenwolf and was accepted for the 2013-2014 season. After her apprenticeship, she stayed on to ASM for Steppenwolf Garage Rep and SM for First Look, then transitioned to ASMing at Equity theatres in Chicago. Eventually, Kathleen found her way to A Red Orchid in 2017 and has been there ever since. To date, she has worked as an SM/ASM on 31 shows.

Our alumni today will be Jennie Ward ‘94, who double-majored in Theater and English. After graduating from Knox, she got her MFA in directing from the Moscow Art Theater School/Harvard/American Repertory Theater’s Institute for Advanced Theater Training. She was a freelance director and teacher for 25 years, in Chicago, NYC, Boston, and is now the Managing Director of Center for Performing Arts in Minneapolis. Today’s guest for ReConnect will be Ren Barkey ‘18!

Ren Barkey (they/them) is a q***r artist, photographer, and theatre dilettante living in Chicago. They graduated Knox in 2018 with majors in Environmental Studies and Theatre and a minor in Studio Art. Pre-quarantine, Ren was working box office at Apollo Theater while Assistant Stage Managing the show Hundred Days (Kokandy Productions). Before that, Ren had the privilege of being the Stage Management Intern on Steadfast Tin Soldier (Lookingglass Theatre). They also previously worked summer stock at Bagaduce Theatre, where they Assistant Stage Managed Bird of Passage, The Glass Menagerie, Hay Fever, and Shakespeare Remembers while also acting as the General Assistant for the theatre.

Theresa received her BFA in Theatre with a minor in Studio Art (Photography and Design Focus) from Knox in 2017 and has been putting that to good use ever since. She has worked with dozens of theatres and companies in the Chicagoland area over the past few years (including Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Goodman Theatre, Logan Center for the Performing Arts and more) in electrics, carpentry, publicity, front of house, board operation and scenic art. Besides theatre, T also enjoys visiting museums, traveling, amusement parks, reading Harry Potter, commenting on bad design, painting murals, sending mail and eating candy.
