This weekend TEAM 85 B.O.B. robotics competed at GVSU. The team earned the coveted Engineering Inspiration Award, which celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team's community.

The most exciting news is that they qualified for the State Championship! April 6-8 at Saginaw Valley State University. GO Z!

Special Olympics Polar Plunge - Zeeland Public Schools 2023

What a great start to our campus Unified week! First, the polar plunge on Monday followed our annual Unified basketball game between the Zeeland grey and white teams today. What a great campus wide event with 2,000 plus students and staff cheering on our athletes. Excited for the rest of the week. GO DUX!

Several of our classes received a visit from the Alliance of Therapy Dogs today. What an awesome experience for our students and staff! We look forward to your future visits. GO DUX!

What a great night to celebrate community as Zeeland West and Zeeland East took to the hardwood! Friday night culminated a week-long Be Nice. awareness campaign on campus and also included a Unified game, recognition of our Regional Champion bowling team, and two great varsity basketball games. Thanks to everyone in our community for supporting our schools! GO DUX!!!

Our ZHS Advanced Woods class recently created custom cutting boards as part of their mass production unit. Students used their new laser-guided engraving machine and end sliding tongue-and-groove construction with walnut dowels. Today 75 boards were given to the staff as gifts. Thank you, Mr. Vizithum and students, for your work on this special project! GO DUX!

Yesterday and today our metals class had a chance to visit Centennial Coatings to finish their projects. Thanks to Mr. VanHuis for connect with this community partner to give students a hands-on experience.

ZWHS student senate surprised our students with a pop-up spirit event yesterday providing every student with a donut during advisory. Thanks to ZWHS senate for supporting our DUX!

At last night’s board meeting we had the honor of recognizing Zeeland West Senior Matthew LaPorte on being named a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist. His score placed him in the top 1% of the 1.5 million students who participated in the NMSQT! Congratulations Matthew!

GRCC brought their mobile discovery lab to campus Friday for our woods and metals student to explore the trades. Thanks GRCC!

Mrs. Ballard’s, Mr. Lloyd’s and Mrs. Stein’s classes took a field trip to Felt Mansion and Lake Michigan this past week. What a great experience for students and staff. GO DUX!

Zeeland High Schools Band competed in the annual MSBOA festival last night, albeit inside due to the weather, and received ratings of 1’s across the board. Way to go Zeeland!

Our GeoPhysical Science classes visited the Holland BPW today to see some real-life applications of their content. What a great experience, thanks to Holland BPW for having us out.

The Dux of ZW celebrated homecoming last week. Spirit days, a fun-filled pep assembly, Friday’s football game, and a Hollywood themed dance all made for a great week! Thank you to our student senate for all of their work and planning. Go Dux!
