We had the most eventful and exciting week! Our Tebbs Ave craftsman project is finally complete, AND we got a brand new nephew, Ira Jack Ritzmann... and guess what!? He and his family get to live here! π₯° SOLD to the Ritzmann family!!! They get the keys this week, and then you'll get the tour! ππΌ
β€ We said goodbye to our sweet little Walnut Street house this morning... Mornings are always the BEST here. The sun hits this house so hard, and pours through the tall windows! So, we picked up our local favorite breakfast and coffee from and enjoyed a quick meal in the sunshine before gathering our things. π We're excited for the new buyer to live here and enjoy all the charm we worked so hard to save! It's all worth while when the new owner appreciates those details as much as we do! We were also able to walk the family who called upon us to save this one back through it and watch them admire and reminisce. We really love our houses and the stories they can tell! π₯° On to the next!

π MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! (In true, style!) This is our home made tree, created by Nathan when we lived in the Harriet Street project, while under construction... With only the start of a living room, and most of our "things" stored in our workshop/storage, we didn't have our Christmas decorations accessible. BUT, we did have an (awful) old green metal awning we had torn off the house, and a scrap chunk of red carriage house siding where we had cut in a new door to our work shop... Nathan had the idea to turn those scraps into what is now our favorite tree! π₯° Fast forward to selling both that old house and carriage house workshop and moving into yet another project (that we'd have delayed occupancy on) we had no house, no workshop and no storage. We kept what we could fit in an enclosed trailer and sold everything "extra"... including the large, heavy, hand-made "Christmas Tree." ππ
It was sold to a lady who planned to re-sell it in her antique booth in Ohio 3+ years ago. Last year, I felt sad that we had let the special tree go and reached out to see if by chance it hadn't sold... π€ I learned that it had NOT. In fact, she had decided she liked it too much so she had brought it home that year to put it in her own family's living room. I explained the story behind the tree and asked if she would consider selling it back so I could re-gift it to my husband. She so kindly agreed that we should have it, gave me her address and I went to pick it up to surprise Nathan!
Now, in 2020, for the first time in 4+ years, we are mostly settled and were able to decorate for Christmas with the usual tree, stockings and more. However, THIS simple looking tree will be my forever favorite because it will remind me of our wild journey over the years and my sweet husband's dedication to create a memorable life together in ALL moments. β€

ππΌ We're making big progress at the Walnut Street property! We've taken full advantage of the nice weather and are just about to wrap up the outside, and pick back up inside! I can't wait to see the final exterior paint complete, with cheery original shutters! This one had so much structural and mechanical work to be done, I'm just dying to get to the pretty stuff!
