Here are instruments and interventions I have used with kids! I design unique goals and objectives to meet non musical goals such as social interaction, speech, cognitive, emotional and physical growth areas with music interventions. Please call to learn more! More is on the way!

Was featured by the Yelm senior center in July!
On, Thursday July 18th,
Daisie Sutton, a board certified music therapist, visited our exercise class.
The class did some exercises while Daisie played her guitar. She also brought some small instruments for the class to try. There was a lot of laughter, singing, and moving to the music.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, Daisie,
for sharing your time and talent with the class. If you would like more information, you can visit this website:

We had a great time today at the Wall for Alzheimer's at Mural Amphitheater in Seattle, WA. Go Team Music Therapy! We raised $870! Let's end this Disease! The elderly lady with the blue flower winked at us and got to dance up on stage with her supporters!
Working on progress summary reports this morning. It's important to evaluate interventions and know how to adapt and incorporate client feedback in future sessions. Also driving to Seattle this afternoon for the walk for Alzheimer's tomorrow at Mural Amphitheater. Go Team Music Therapy! If you would like to donate search for our team on the Alzheimers website. Happy Friday!

Sutton Music Therapy Introduction Video describing my credentials, trainings, what music therapy is and benefits of my services. Hope you enjoy!
I was fortunate to have my father take these lovely first business pictures of me last winter after I had formed my business.
From a Dream to a Vision
I started my music therapy journey back in 2011 when I moved to Colorado and was accepted into graduate school at Colorado State University to study Music Therapy. It was a lot of hard work as I had to take various classes in psychology, neuroanatomy, and various clinical and research courses. While there I worked in practicums with children with disabilities in a junior high school as well as a trauma clinic using music interventions to focus on emotional expression, education, social interaction and healthy decision making. I also worked with adults with disabilities, Alzheimer’s and co lead an exercise group with stroke patients, a physical therapist and music therapist Sarah Johnson. After graduating in 2013, I started my internship at a skilled nursing facility called, “The Sunshine Terrace Foundation” with Jennifer Birchel in Logan, Utah where I worked with geriatrics with Alzheimers, short term rehabilitation and geriatrics. There I got to do several 1-1 visits to meet residents in their rooms as well as do groups and support recreational staff. It was such a wonderful experience and I was sad to leave the facility, but at the completion in 2015, I moved back to Colorado to work for Metro Music Therapy for two years, where I saw on average 15 older adult groups and 10 1-1’s weekly. I learned a lot from my boss Lori Sanders as well as other music therapists in the field and also worked with children with developmental disabilities and culturally diverse seniors.
After I commuted 500 miles per week to service clientele, I had this strong urge to move back to my home state of Washington and luckily, I was able to find a brand new life enrichment coordinator position at Easthaven Villas memory care. There I enjoyed creating all of the activity and music therapy programs to service the residents and got to know families, care givers and managers really well. It was a hard decision to leave to focus in on my business, as many of the residents felt like family, but as I was able to get three contracts with the state of Washington, I knew that it was time for me to shift my focus to my dream career. It has been a wonderful transition into being a full-time focused CEO and also a lot of work. Since June, I have picked up 10 geriatric facilities where I see groups and also have private children clients on the side. I am excited for growing to full time hours in the coming months and hope to train interns as well as hire to expand music therapy services throughout the Thurston and Lewis counties. My long term goals are also to start up a music therapy based special needs camp for local children and am excited for the limitless possibilities that my business will have on positively impacting a wide variety of populations in the future. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions about music therapy and I look forward to scheduling a free consultation/interview with you!
