You lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine, and bowel movements. In order for your body to work the way it should, it needs to continually replace all of that lost water. You can replace those fluids any time you drink liquids or eat any food that contain water (like fruits). Water helps your kidneys remove waste from your blood and keep your blood vessels open. One way to check to see if you are drinking enough is to check your urine. Your urine should be light yellow or colorless. If your urine is dark, you’re not getting enough water.
Too much water can be dangerous, leading to an imbalance of sodium in the body. Your body needs sodium for fluid balance, blood pressure control, nerves, and muscles. It is always best to drink continually throughout the day instead of chugging water only a few times per day.
When purchasing fish and seafood, the most important words to look for on the packaging is “wild caught”. This means that the sea creature you are buying grew up in its natural environment, eating the foods it was made it eat.
Farm raised seafood is produced in small enclosures and fed unnatural diets - both of which can increase disease and the likelihood of the use of antibiotics.
***Pro tip: try to eat smaller fish that are lower on the food chain like sardines, salmon, and tilapia, and shellfish like oysters and clams.
This is because many of the toxins in our ocean build up in larger fish like tuna, shark, swordfish, and marlin.
Make sure to look at the nutrition facts on your future grocery trips! There are a lot of foods with hidden sugars that may surprise you.

Our energy comes from a process called “cellular respiration”, which converts the food we eat into cellular energy.
Our diet consists of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
Carbohydrates come from many different sources, including vegetables, fruits, starches, grains, dairy, and simple sugars.
Healthy fats include avocado, nuts, eggs, olive oil, fish, tofu, flaxseed, and beans.
Protein (when possible) should come from 100% grass fed animals, pasture raised poultry and eggs, and wild caught fish.
Females need at least 74 ounces of water daily. Males need at least 84 ounces of water daily. This amount may change based on activity levels and weather conditions.
Electrolytes can be added to water to help regulate chemical reactions, and maintain the balance between fluids inside and outside of your cells. Adding a little bit of sea salt and lemon juice is a great way to naturally enhance your water.

Processed anything has a fallout. Not to say it’s easy to go through this life without any processed foods but limiting them is important to an overall healthy lifestyle.

Cleaning products, makeup, shampoo, body wash.. anything that touches your skin gets absorbed. Your skin is your largest organ and it’s important that we take care of ourselves on the outside just as much as we take care of ourselves on the inside.
It’s a beautiful day to see clients!
Let me reintroduce myself! My name is Rachel and I own Sycamore Nutritional Wellness. I love going camping with my husband of 25 years and our cat-like dog Bella. I really like getting to the bottom of things and advocating for you. I utilize blood chemistry, specialty labs and muscle testing to get to the root cause of your symptoms and work with your body’s innate ability to heal with natural food grade supplements, herbs and homeopathy. If this is something that peaks your interest, email me at: [email protected]
I look forward to talking to you!

So, for over a year I’ve been working on something ……… and now the wait is over! Last year, I completed Cellcore’s Level 3 practitioner training and have been shadowing a master tester. I have been offering this service to current clients for a while…… but am now offering to everyone. It is an applied kinesiology technique also known as muscle testing to help you get to the root cause of your health issues and symptoms. I combine this testing technique with running functional blood labs and nutritional therapy to help you get to your goals. If you’ve been waiting to work on yourself for some reason, now is the time!

Healing is not linear.
Healing is multi-layered.
Healing is a journey.
You can’t address all things at once and have to allow your body and soul to move at its own pace. We are not in a healing race against other humans and how their bodies react or even how our bodies may have reacted in the past.
Everyone is bio-individual and needs different things (foods, supplements, exercise, rest, etc.) at different times and sometimes in different ways.
Healing should be considered thoughtfully, carefully and respectfully because our bodies work hard. Healing requires making sure our bodies and minds are prepared for the work and changes that are about to occur. It takes preparation, growth and hard work. Healing is beautiful. -Rachel Theiler, NTP
From our family to yours- wishing everyone a Merry Christmas this season. I hope everyone gets some rest and spends time with the ones who matter most!
Yup! You caught me eating a treat. Eat healthy, move your body and enjoy the holidays. It’s all about balance. Don’t take yourself too seriously this season but most of all enjoy your family. Merry Christmas!
New favorite treat!
Pro-tip: Break into tiny pieces and enjoy one a day until gone. Reminds me of the Christmas oranges we used to get in our Christmas stockings 😊
The holidays are here and so is the cold. If fatloss is a goal, here’s something to consider. All calories are not created equal. Alcohol actually shuts down all other metabolic pathways including fat burning for up to 36 hours! That’s a whole a whole day and a half! It also can take up to 30 days to see the benefits of not partaking when it come to weightloss and body composition. Don’t let the weekends or holidays stump you on your goals. 💪🏻
