Hey! It’s been a minute! I’m not sure who will even see this, but I wanted to make a post to do two things! 1. To reflect on last year’s success and say a big thank you to everyone who supported us! We are so thankful! We would not have made it with out , , all of our amazing CSA members, our family and friends, and the community. It was a great season. My words fail to communicate what a privilege it was to do what we did last year. 2. I need to give some hard news. We will be scaling back significantly this year and will not be selling at the farmer’s market or providing a CSA. It’s not something we decided lightly. While last year was bountiful and a success it was very challenging. The straw that broke us was our house flooding in September. We just dropped everything from there. In a matter of weeks we lived in a hotel for a minute, had a car wreck, and then covid! 👌🏼 We didn’t get new floors until the end of November. So, we are going to give ourselves a little respite. We will grow things, and you may see us around town now and then with some produce. But we need to take things a little slower. So, if you’ve read all this then thanks for hanging in there with us, and we hope you can still be our friends! In the meantime go find a farmer friend and support them, because the way this system is set up it’s not easy and they need you! Thanks again , pals 😘

We are thankful for the food we get to share with our CSA members this week. To be a bit vulnerable it has been a tough season mentally. Everything has been harder. The weather has been extreme. Dry or soaked. The pests have found us. The weeds overwhelm. Life has to continue despite these challenges, and even as I write I feel the need to tell you I am not trying to complain. It’s been hard, but we are still grateful. We are grateful for the work. We are grateful for the bounty despite circumstances! We are grateful for people’s kindness! So it’s a joy to share the watermelon, mixed greens, joi choy, arugula, onions, and french breakfast radishes with our members.

We covered our plants for the night. We have learned this year that just because the temps might seem safe if the weather reports low 40s we need to cover. We are always learning. It’s one of the things that both frustrates you, and simultaneously keeps you wanting more. We are thankful for the privilege to grow food. Not just for us, but for a community of people. We are not perfect farmers, but we are grateful to always be learning and growing.

Woke up this morning to an unexpected frost. We checked the weather and all seemed clear with a low of 41. Not sure what the actual temperature was, but our hose was frozen and our plants had ice and frost. We thawed the hose and watered the beds to thaw the plants before permanent damage was done. We think everything is ok, but what a way to wake up on Easter morning!

We’re doubling our growing space this year with the help of silage tarps from . Prepping new plots with silage tarps is a great first step to establish no-till beds.
