Drawer faces are in and it’s slowly coming along! Time for the upper shelf and then cleaning up the details.
This is your bi-annual reminder that if you have a pond and haven't cleaned your pond filters recently, it's time. We usually reccomend once before winter and once before summer. This before and after shows you what a difference it makes!
We got the bench installed into the closet nook and now our daughter has decided it's her new place. We can't wait to update you as it continues to come together!
Tried out my new sprayer and this thing is amazing! FInally got our closet bench sprayed and ready for install.
Finally found the decor we wanted for the bathroom remodel and took some photos! Here is our daughter's bathroom/guest bath before and after!
Working on your own home renovations in your "free" time makes them go slowly, but our closet renovation is still coming along! The sides are all framed out, trim is in place and painted and it's all ready for the cabinets and shelving. You can see the beginning photos a few posts back!
A quick throwback to the wooden closet separators I made with my wife Cactus & Cloud Market for our daughter's nursery. If you're interested in any custom woodwork, reach out and we would love to team up on something special and unique for you!
We recently had the pleasure of assisting with the renovation of this wall space for a client. We installed tile backsplash, and some custom seven foot long floating shelves with recessed LED strip lighting. The end result was so stunning! If you’re interested in any of the materials or products used for the backsplash and shelving, reach out and we can discuss options and current pricing.
Weekends are for woodworking (except this weekend, this weekend is mostly for completing our taxes…). Wish us luck! 😭
The next project we started on at our house is renovating this closet into a reading nook/storage area since we are expanding the master to include a walk in closet on the other end and won’t need this one for clothes storage. Day one of demo and framing… done! (Our daughter had to sneak into bed for a photo so we had to block her out 🥰).
We got all the remodeling done on our bathroom a while back, but we were wanting to wait to post an “after” photo once we got all the finishing touches and decor up. As with everything during COVID times, getting that decor is of course taking longer than expected, so here are some before and afters of the space, and we’ll post another one once we get all the personal touches put on. Enjoy! (And check out that beautiful uplighting now😍)
I love teaming up with my wife, Cactus & Cloud Market, to create fun custom orders, like this planter box below. You can add a few mason jars and some flowers like this person did, or any other decor you like. And since it's custom, we can make your planter or other decor read however you want to truly make it a cherished gift, and a lasting piece of home decor.
Want to know what happens to the removed, but still great condition items from remodels and other jobs we do? Hull Handcraft tries to give those items a new life locally one way or another. Construction debris is a huge contributor to landfills every year, but until our area has better recycling opportunities for what we remove, we have to try to do our best where we can, and instead of taking easily reusable items to the landfill we try to get them a new home. Local places like Habitat for Humanity’s local Reuse Center through Evergreen Habitat for Humanity, Open House Ministries, and Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette are great places to give your home goods a second life for those who need them! (Be aware not all locations are always accepting everything you might want to donate). Plus, every time we go to donate we have an excuse to hop inside and do some shopping 😊
This is one of two 80” floating shelves we are working on for a client. Had to bust out all the small clamps for these guys! As the saying goes, “you can never have to many clamps." (Although my wife might disagree😊).
We’ve been a little MIA lately, so wanted to let you all know we’re still here! As some of you know, our sole work van got stolen from our driveway the other day, so we have been busy dealing with the technicalities, insurance, and general emotions that have come with that. Thank you to everyone who has been patient and understanding with us while we figure out the process of continuing jobs with our van and tools missing. We are still here, and still continuing work and taking on new jobs, but just wanted to keep you all in the loop. We really do have the most wonderful clients.
This bathroom remodel is coming along! Another sneak peek...
Throwback to this custom keyboard stand/changing table that I built for our nursery before our little one was born. When you’re in a small space, each place has to have multiple uses sometimes, and this worked out perfect for keeping the piano out where it could be used but also safely tucked away from little fingers.
A new bathroom renovation with before and afters coming for you soon...
Aside from home renovations, Hull Handcraft also offers custom woodworking, and hardwood custom bath caddies like this one are one of our favorite items to make. These are a lasting, beautiful addition to the bathroom for the person that loves to soak in the tub. We can make a custom wall hanger for it, or the caddy can simply stay in the tub for the next use or be leaned against the wall. Shoot us a message if you want a quote!
Worried about mail theft and looking to replace your standard mailbox with one that locks? Get in touch and we can help you out.
Want to add some wainscotting or other decorative panelling to your walls? We can do that! Give us a call or send us a message so we can get you a quote and talk about options.
We took way too many “after” photos of our entryway, but couldn’t help ourselves, so get ready to do some scrolling! It turned out so good. You’ll see a photo of the completed project, then before and afters of each area, and a few extras. If you’ve been following along, we moved into our house a while back knowing we were going to be renovating most of it, and wanted to share that journey with you. When we moved in, the vaulted entry had textured wallpaper on one side and none of the style or colors that we love. The first thing to go was that wallpaper, and we started the process of brainstorming, designing, and figuring out what we wanted for the entryway space. It turned out amazing and gave this space a whole new feel that we love. (Excuse the lighting and tinting in the photos, we aren't professional photographers and if you live here in the NW you know how hard the lighting can be this time of year).
If your driveway, patio or pathway is a mossy, dirty slipping hazard like this, give us a call or shoot us a message so we can get it cleaned up, safe, and looking great for you again! (Also, how satisfying is this to watch)?
From our family to yours, Happy Holidays! May they be full of love and laughter, and may the coming year be full of health, hope, and joy for you and your loved ones. Thank you for your support this year, and in the years to come!

Here are the in process photos of the office update we promised! (See last post for before and after).
Continuing to work more permanently from home, or need a space divided up to suite your needs better? This client was using a corner of his open concept living/dining area for his office, but when he received confirmation from his employer that he would be working from home indefinitely he knew he needed a a more permanent space designated just for work. We installed an insulated wall for sound control, as well as some solid core craftsman style French doors to create a nice open feel and flow into the dining area when opened. The client now has a separate, private, dedicated office for his job, as you can see by the amazing photos he sent us after getting all settled into his new space. (Stay tuned to the next post to see some in process photos for those of you who geek out on that like we do)!
This really large mirror in our bathroom was one of the first things we knew we wanted to go when we remodeled, but my wife wanted to see if we could repurpose it into a farmhouse style mirror for an oversized wall we were wanting to fill. Thankfully we were able to easily remove it from the wall without any breakage or cracking! I built a thin frame around it as a base, built the larger farmhouse style frame for the front, and used strong magnets to make the front both sturdy and easily removable for cleaning. It ended up working perfectly in our space, and saved it from going to a landfill (did you know that mirrors usually can’t be recycled?)! We love a good repurpose or crafty idea here, so if you need a little help with something you’re thinking about up-cycling or repurposing, reach out to see if we can give you a hand or do a consultation for you.
Finishing up some doors today for a home office project. Final photos on that to come soon!
Accidents happen. Get in touch to see how we can help you get them all fixed up!

This was a collaboration with Cactus & Cloud Market and is one of our favorites so far! If you love this design, or have any other sort of wood gift you want to get custom made, reach out and we would love to see what we can do for you.
It’s hard to believe these are the same bathroom right? While we love both of them, it shows how much remodeling a room can change the feel of the space. Which style do you like better? Green with darker wood or gray with white?

If you need help hiding those pesky cords behind your TV, shoot us a message or give us a call to discuss options for cord management systems and installation.
Here's a quick time lapse of the shiplap install from the fireplace we shared with you the other day.
Thank you to our clients for this amazing "After" picture. This space was beautiful before, but after we added shiplap above the mantel it looks even cozier (along with those adorable Halloween decorations!)
Some before and afters of a recent fireplace renovation I had the pleasure of working on for some of my favorite clients! These homeowners already knew what they wanted, and have great taste. I installed a wood mantel and some faux stone veneer by AirStone, giving the fireplace more dimension, and filling out that open space between the TV and fireplace for more of a finished look.
With the Holidays right around the corner, our schedule is filling up fast with last minute projects from some of our clients that they want done or tidied up before their guests arrive. Whether you are a new or repeat client, if you have any outstanding projects that you want to get wrapped up before the end of the year, reach out to see if we can get you on the books and take some of the stress of the upcoming Season off your plate!
If you've been following along on our entry way remodel, we're making progress! All the trim and boards are in place. Just a few more touch ups and it's ready for primer and paint.
We don’t typically reccomend painting decks as they never wear well, however this client had already painted the deck previously, and had a budget to keep in mind, so we decided to avoid stripping the deck and starting over. Instead we made the decision to pressure wash, prime, and repaint it for now to make it look fresh and clean for the up-coming year. Reach out if your deck has some wear and tear that needs to be addressed. Whether its cosmetic issues, safety issues, or both, we can let you know your options!
Don’t cause any delays in your mail service by waiting until your mailbox completely falls over like this one! Whether the box itself needs to be replaced, you just need it remounted on a new post, or both, we can help. Give us a call or send us a message and we can get you on the schedule.
