Today is the first day of early voting for the March 5, 2024 Republican Primary Election. While I have no opponent, it would still be an honor to receive your vote and support as I seek re-election to the office of Hunt County Commissioner for Precinct 1. It’s been an absolute joy to serve this precinct and county for the last 3 years, and I am honored to continue working on behalf of our community.

When I first campaigned for office, I told people we need government that is efficient, effective, and accountable to the people it serves. And it needs to be these things so we can build a future for our children and a community in which they, and we, can live, work, and worship in peace and security.

Due to the many challenges we face at the local, State, and Federal levels, these goals are not foregone conclusions. Our residents shouldn’t be faced with a tax burden that imperils the American dream of home ownership. They should be confident they are receiving a good return on their tax dollars. And they should have confidence that their government is engaging in careful, thorough planning for the future to manage growth appropriately.

With your help, I will continue working to protect Hunt County against these things in close communication and cooperation with Precinct 1 and Hunt County residents.

I appreciate your continued support as we build a better future for our children.

Sincerely,
Mark Hutchins

Friends, it’s final, and we did it! I’m mostly at a loss for words. For all who supported me with votes or otherwise, thank you so, so much! There are too many to name now.

This race was about elevating your voice and priorities to the fore, and that has certainly been done. I look forward to serving each of you as Commissioner for Hunt County Precinct 1.

15/07/2020

Updated results are in and we’ve pulled further ahead! We are starting to get excited over here, folks!

Last call folks! Polls close at 7:00 PM. If you are in line by then you can vote for the change we need in Hunt County Commissioner Precinct 1!

14/07/2020

Friends, today is the last day to vote in the 2020 Republican Primary Runoff. There are other important races on the ballot, but remember that your county tax rate and budget is set by your Commissioners Court, and your county road repairs and maintenance are overseen by your County Commissioner. I’m challenging the incumbent commissioner for Precinct 1 because I don’t believe he shares the priorities of his constituents and has not been their advocate on the Commissioners Court.

If elected, I will be your voice and advocate for lower taxes and better roads through hard work, innovation, and fiscal conservatism. I will work for greater transparency in the processes and decisions affecting your daily lives. And I will listen to you and your voice.

Please vote Mark Hutchins for Hunt County Commissioner Precinct 1 today. It’s time for the change we need.

Blessings,
Mark

Friends, a personal request. We are in the final week of early voting in Hunt County before election day on July 14 and I need your help reminding your friends to vote for Mark Hutchins for Commissioner Pct. 1. Often, especially in run-offs, people focus on a few races higher up the ticket that get more heat and attention and forget about the lower ballot races. Could you help my candidacy by posting on your timeline to let your friends know you endorse my candidacy and remind them I’m on the ballot? I’ve attached a picture that can be reposted to grab their attention.

Thanks for your support!

-Mark

Friends,

I know we are all busy, but I’d like to ask for a minute of your time to read the following message.

First, thank you for your support in the primary. While we would have chosen to avoid a runoff if given the choice, we were thrilled and humbled to receive almost 48% of the vote in our race to represent Hunt County Precinct 1 on the Commissioners Court. With your help we can finish the job and win this race!

The Runoff Election is nearing quickly, and early voting begins June 29 and runs through July 10. Election Day is Tuesday, July 14. Runoffs are all about turnout, and the absolute best help you can give our campaign is to a) vote for me in the runoff election, and b) urge as many of your friends as possible to also vote for Mark Hutchins in the runoff election. Even if you don’t live in Hunt County Commissioner Precinct 1, you likely have friends who do and can urge them to support our campaign with their vote.

Good leadership is important, especially at the County level. We know this because of recent events in which County leaders played a key role in the pandemic response across the state and nation, and we have seen the importance of clear, effective communication between Commissioners and their constituents.

We also know this because property tax appraisals have been received and yet again you and your friends, family, and neighbors, are feeling the pain of taxation without effective or communicative representation by your Commissioner. Now is the time for a change, but it won’t happen unless you vote and urge your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same!

Sincerely,
Mark Hutchins
Candidate for Hunt County Commissioner, Precinct 1

Eighth COVID-19 case reported in Hunt County 03/04/2020

We have tough times ahead in our nation, state, and county, and many difficult policy decisions for our government officials to make. If you haven’t already, be sure to call your representatives at all levels beginning with those closest to you (City and county) to first thank them for their service in this difficult time, and secondly to ask if they are willing to hear your thoughts regarding responses to the coronavirus.

The only way to get through this without tremendous loss of life or property is to work together.

If you need help tracking down contact for your representatives in local government let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Important election news!

Pursuant to a proclamation issued today, Governor Greg Abbot has suspended certain provisions in the Texas Election Code, to move the primary runoff date to July 14, 2020.

A revised election calendar will be issued by Secretary of State and I’ll be sure to keep you updated as I learn more.

Circle your calendars! It’s time to knuckle down and win this thing. In the meantime, please share this post and info to your personal page so your friends and family can be made aware.
