Hey small business owners! MainStreet.org is working to further support small business owners in building their economic vitality and fostering a thriving community. On March 20, 2023, applications will open for 350 small business grants of $5,000 to eligible businesses in the U.S. and territories.
Main Street America and American Express are pleased to announce that applications for the Backing Small Businesses Grant are now open! The grant program will award 350 small business grants of $5,000 to eligible businesses in the U.S. and territories.
In 2021, American Express and Main Street America created the Backing Small Businesses grant program to help economically vulnerable U.S. small business owners recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and grow their businesses.
Now in its second year, the program has increased both grants awarded and total funding to $2.3 million to further support small business owners in building their economic vitality and fostering a thriving community.
New this year are Enhancement Grants for grantees: If you are awarded a $5,000 grant through this program, your business may also be eligible to be considered for an additional $25,000 Enhancement Grant!

And we have an arch! ***Located at this particular spot because ODOT restricts structures like this over highways - 3rd Street is a highway, and Main Street South is also a highway.*** This is one of many projects that continues efforts to beautify our downtown core and increase our small business sales, economic development and community engagement. And just for a little background as to "why", research confirms that small towns with thriving beautification programs see an increase across the board of nearly 30% in sales for businesses. Consumers prefer to shop in pretty places, and pretty places increase the value of a product.
Have you seen the items up for bid by Rotary Club of Crook County? On display at the museum or go to: fundraiser.bid/CrookCoRotary
Hello everyone. Here is a closer rendering of the archway for downtown Prineville. We were going to have the CC in the middle, but decided against that. The one word of Prineville. See the cool letters made by the high school welding group. Logs with metal and then the light poles that will be adorning downtown Prineville.
See you all tomorrow!
