Last week two of our Chapter Officers- Brian Fernandez-Ortiz, President Elect and Jeffrey Castonguay, Past Student Advisor had the opportunity to attend the week long 94th Annual Florida FFA State Convention and Expo in Orlando, Florida.

Our students experienced:

✔️Attending leadership workshops
✔️Served as delegates to represent our chapter
✔️Experienced sessions in which they were able to see all the opportunities FFA has to offer them
✔️Met FFA members from around our state
✔️Visited the career and college expo
✔️Finally, bonded with mini golfing and learning lots of new card games!

We look forward to the coming school year to
continue to grow our chapter and members as leaders within our community!

Our chapter is extremely proud of Taliyah Moore and Isabel Gutierrez! Thank you Manatee County Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Committee for recognizing our students!

In April the Women’s Committee held our annual speech contest, 2 of our 8 contestants were just old enough to compete (14) from Lincoln Middle School FFA, and they did an incredible job against mostly 11th graders! After the contest the committee unanimously decided to award each of these contestants $50 at their FFA banquet for their bravery and for doing such a great job! We’re so proud of them and can’t wait until next year to see how they do!

Let’s give a shout out to Lincoln Middle FFA’s Brian Fernandez-Ortiz. Brian plans to major in Agriculture Science and continue on to become a Livestock Veterinarian!

Students, parents, and community supporters- our t-shirt designs are in! T-Shirts will be $15 each. If you are interested in purchasing one you may do so by sending money in with your student or by emailing Ms.Roy at [email protected]. Orders will be closed by the end of the week next week!

This past weekend, three of our students attended the Manatee County 4H spring rabbit show!

All three of these members are new to exhibiting rabbits and took advantage of the opportunity to glean knowledge from senior 4H members. Thank you to these students as well as the rabbit show committee!

We are excited to watch these three students grow into experienced showmen next year!

Last night, two of our students competed at the Manatee County Farm Bureau Speech contest!

Isabel Gutierrez-Carlos, 8th grade competed with her speech on jobs in the agriculture industry and Taliyah Moore, 8th grade presented her speech on urban forestry entitled- No shade, trees are important.

Our chapter is extremely proud of these two amazing young ladies as they represented our chapter well. They both received many compliments on their speeches and public speaking skills. While we will miss them as they move onto high school next year, we cannot wait to see all the wonderful things they will accomplish!
