Coach Stan Anderson
Residential Goalkeeper Training
Just a sampling of the staff in Grand Rapids this week at the Clark Keeper Training / Summer Road Show. (L-R) Toney Anderson (High Point), Mark Sappington (Cleveland State), Kyle Ihn (Green Bay).
The countdown continues!
Blessed to have worked with Lukas Peterson both in club football and at . Today he adds National Champion (congrats Chicago Fire) to his resume. Earned on the highest platform available to a youth/male footballer. Proud of him and his kick ass family.
Correct me if I’m wrong but you’d rather send your GK to someone with confidence, and is around confident people, than someone who has a little doubt. Have a kick ass Sunday.
The countdown is on…
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen CHOSE GK…GK did not choose him. He is a fantastic GK and is well compensated but this can be a reality of GK. Multiple World Cups and 3 Euros and not a minute on the field. The strength of Manuel Neuer.
OWN GOAL
I’d love to see the cameras from behind the goal but we do not get to see it. A couple things:
*Regardless of how loud the stadium is your voice must be the most powerful!
*The defender (person passing to the GK) HAS to visually see where the GK wants the ball
*In most all case the outfield player should NOT pass the ball directly in line with the goal…obvious reasons.
*The GK should visually point to WHERE he/she wants the ball to be played…typically away from goal. (This is why you develop BOTH feet)
*It can happen in the Euros, it can happen to you. Keep fighting.

The countdown!
Take a look at these 3 Djordje Mihailovic goals v St. Louis CITY SC. The first and third goals can be managed better by the CITY GK. Djordje is a player I worked with for many years…in fact his dad coached me in HS. He is a National Champ at the youth level. A homegrown signing by the Fire. A European pro and now a Rapids DP. The 2nd goal is sneaky good.
HIGHLIGHTS: Djordje Mihailovic nets a perfect hat trick as the Rapids top St. Louis 3-0 Midfielder Djordje Mihailovic scores a perfect hat trick, while Zack Steffen registers his second-straight clean sheet, as the Rapids win 3-0 over Saint Loui...

Cancelation policy
Short of canceling 1 week out from Camp Shutout we refund all of your money. Honestly, we feel is it bu****it to hold part of a deposit should your team advance on their platform or hold part or all of your deposit should a GK get injured. There are too many of ‘those people’ out there. There is no other fine print to find here. We do our absolute best to refund all of your money.
With that said…if you do cancel this will put you at the bottom of the waiting list. (Of course we are open to discussion if the reason is out of your control)
Currently the waiting list is over 1,350 GKs.
Sorry about the grainy pic…that’s my fault not Griffin’s! Huge congrats to Griffin in his commitment to . Griffin is going to do very well at Edgewood…they’ve got themselves a good one!
NEW GROUP:
CAMP SHUTOUT REVIEWS
I have come across many GKs/parents that have been seeking recommendations about Camp Shutout. It got me to thinking…instead of having to seek that kind of input that I could create a group where people can share their experience at CS. This then would last much longer than day-to-day. This is of course optional….those that no little to nothing about Camp Shutout can then find out what they want to in this group.

That’s a wrap on the WWGS Road Show. Big props to Dawn Crow of UWSP as we joined forces in a blended TWDub event. The winning team, the and the top field players all pictured here. 👍🙏❌⚽️
Thank you to the guys and girls that have come out to the WWGS Road Show in Stevens Point.
If you can get yourself in front of this man…you should.
If your coach happens to also be a father we have the perfect Father’s Day gift for him. Link in bio:
Some CS24 fun facts:
* 66 GKs are flying to CS. Pretty evenly distributed across CWA, MKE and ORD airports with a few flying into ‘other’ airports.
* There will be 330 Advanced GKs and 120 Youth GKs.
* There will be 276 Male GKs and 172 Female GKs.
* 107 (largest) were recommended by a coach. Thankful!
* 39 states and 4 countries will be represented at CS24
WHAT WILL JULY OF 2025 LOOK LIKE?
While we have not even hit July of 24 it is a fair question as change, positive change, is coming!
Those that attend the Big Show / July 21-26, 2024 will have the first option to attend in 2025. That will be in the 2.5 day window after July 26th. 26th, 27th and 28th.
That will look like this:
YOUTH
On July 26th at/near 11:30 am the YOUTH will get an email allowing them to ‘verbally commit’ to attend CS 25. If a YOUTH GK would be entering FR year in ‘25 then they will wait until later that night. 150 YOUTH GKs at CS 25 is our YOUTH plan at the moment.
After July 28th, if we are not at the 150 GK mark, then we will start at the top of our waiting list until we are at 150 ‘verbally committed’ YOUTH GKs. You would be notified via text and will have less time to ‘verbally commit’ than last year. Likely 24 hours and not 3 days.
ADVANCED
On July 26th at/near 7:30 pm the ADVANCED GKs will get an email allowing them to ‘verbally commit’ to attend CS 25. If AN ADVANCED GK would be entering FR year of college in ‘25 they will still be able to attend CS. 500 ADVANCED GKs at CS 25 is our ADVANCED plan at the moment.
After July 28th, if we are not at the 500 GK mark, then we will start at the top of our waiting list until we are at 500 ‘verbally committed’ ADVANCED GKs. You would be notified via text and will have less time to ‘verbally commit’ than last year. Likely 24 hours and not 3 days.
It is entirely possible that we will be ‘verbally’ FULL by the end of this July. Once we are ‘full’ we will open up actual registration on January 2, 2025 and plan to be FULL with actual registrations within a week of registration opening.
Thank you,
Stan
