Wash days with new-ish sisterlocks/microlocs/microtwists be like… Braiding and banding is a part of the process to ensure your new locs do not unravel or slip out when washing. You part your hair into sections and begin to create a braid within that section. After the braid is complete you add rubber bands to secure the braid.

How often should I retighten my Sisterlocks?

every 4 to 8 weeks
It is recommended every 4 to 8 weeks. Your first retightening should take place no longer that 4 weeks after your initial install. Sisterlocks® are low maintenance, however, consistant maintenance is required for best results.

Even though your natural hair is no longer loose, you can still experience breakage and damage if you don't follow a proper loc care regimen. One of the benefits of having locs is that you the damage can be physically repaired.

Consultations for transfer clients are essential. They allow both client and consultant to get a feel for each other, all questions can be asked and answered, the consultant can assess your locs, and you both can decide if you are a good fit for one another.
