Thanks to all who ran, transported runners, kept the roads safe for runners, did traffic control, were in charge of logistics, hosted barbecues, cheered on the torch run... or somehow contributed to the success of their local torch run for Special Olympics Oregon .
Law enforcement personnel from around the state spent the weekend at Oregon State University supporting the athletes of Special Olympics Oregon at the Summer State Games. PLAY UNIFIED VANCOUVER
I am honored to be a Special Olympics coach and yesterday the Vancouver Public Schools closed out their 2024 Special Olympics Unified Soccer season. Unified Sports brings students with and without intellectual disabilities together on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.
The afternoon was wrapped up with a meet and greet from local First Responders who cheered them on. Kindness 911 was joined by Vancouver Police, Vancouver Fire and AMR. The athletes, partners and families had a blast!
Keep impacting your community one kind act at a time!
Thank you Oregon State Police!

Our LETR volunteers SERVE in lots of ways to support Special Olympics Oregon. Besides running the torch safely to ceremonies, handing out medals to athletes at competitions, fundraising, jumping in cold water, LETR personnel also volunteer hours as SOOR coaches and referees. This weekend, a Commander from Polk County Sheriff's Office Oregon had the honor of being a referee at regional competitions. Thank you for your service!!
Oregon Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics received the Rudy Award of Excellence Today at the LETR International Conference for raising over $840K for Special Olympics Oregon!
