I come from a long lineage of service to the San Bernardino School District. I am currently employed as a lead counselor to the First-Year Experience Program at San Bernardino Valley College where I work with students coming out of the K-12 systems. I volunteer as the Faculty Advisor for the LGBTQ+ Club on my college campus and am a founding member of the Safe Spaces Committee which advocates for the fair, equitable inclusivity for students in the LGBTQ+ community. I have recently been elected to serve as the Equal Opportunity Chairperson for the SBVC Academic Senate’s Executive Team.
In my work with the LGBTQ+ community as well as being a woman of color I have advocated and mentored students, especially trans women on paths which their academic and career pursuits. I plan on continuing to advocate and mentore these underserved individuals in the future.

Vote Heather Johnson for San Bernardino USD School Board!
Heather Johnson is a third generation San Bernardino resident, who's looking to continue her family legacy in San Bernardino. She can do so by serving on our city's school board. Heather is a strong woman, A passionate soul, and a strong believer of what San Bernardino can be. Heather is currently the lead counselor for the “First Year Experience” program at San Bernardino Valley college, a CSUSB alumni, and a current Doctoral Candidate for the University of Redlands.
If elected she'll prioritize the following issues:
- Closing the digital divide
- Innovative Learning
- Secondary to Post -Secondary Bridge Program
- Improving College Readiness
