These are all possible signs of iron deficiency, a common and often overlooked health issue affecting millions of people each year. Despite consuming iron-rich foods (such as 🥩lean meats or 🫑plant-based options) I often see patients struggling with low iron levels due to poor absorption.

🍊 Importance of Vitamin C for Iron Absorption:
Vitamin C enhances the body’s absorption of iron by converting non-heme iron (found in plant-based sources) into a more absorbable form. Consuming vitamin C-rich foods or supplements alongside iron-rich foods can help to boost iron levels in the body.

🚫 Watch Out for Iron Absorption Blockers:
Certain beverages, like tea and coffee, contain compounds that may hinder iron absorption. It might be a good idea to avoid these drinks with iron-rich meals to ensure optimal absorption.
