Learning the Hard Way - Oftentimes, we make things harder than they have to be. Sometimes, that is when we don't heed wise counsel. Maybe the lesson I've learned with my dead hydrangea will help you not make the same mistake I did.
Weeping Over a Willow - Disappointments are an everyday occurrence. But what happens when our hearts make a home there? Let's talk about it on today's Monday Musing.
The health of any relationship always boils down to how deeply we understand the love of the heavenly Father for us. We can't truly love our spouse, or anyone well, if we aren't operating from a heart that receives the pure and extravagant love of God. - From “Monday Musings”

God is and always has been perfectly good and loving and just. The issue of whether or not God is just is taken out of the equation when we align our faith with the truth of the Bible. - From “Reclaiming Your Heart”

Grateful for the Descent - Jesus' ascension afforded us so much. But, in order to ascend, He first descended. And wow! The gift that gave us. Now, He understands us. Our every need and temptation. What a comfort. Watch the full message here: https://youtu.be/OfT_oaqK5zM
God wants to do something new for us. But he can't do something new when we are living in a land of distractions. Distractions keep us looking backward at the things that hold us captive. Being present has us keeping our eyes on him. On what he has given us to enjoy. On the beauty that surrounds us. And it is only in being present that we can enjoy the new things he has to offer. - From “Reclaiming Your Heart”
“This book introduces four very different, interesting, quirky characters who would never have talked to each other under normal circumstances. However, rules are different when you're on holiday. Time is of the essence; you may never see these people again.
This piece of nonfiction touched my heart and soul. I enjoyed these characters which made me laugh. I was surprised at what these women shared, and my spirit was moved as they faced their fears.” - Amazon Reviewer, ACFW Book Club

The Gifts in the Quiet - It's been that kind of year. Leaning into solitude. I'm discovering even more that it affords. Even in the most unexpected places.

Everything Has a Time - So much of life is missed these days because our heads are in our phone. For some reason, this thought was just highlighted to me in a new way the other day while Gracie and I were on a walk. I was so grateful I left my phone behind. The journey brought to mind the passage in Ecclesiastes that "everything has a time." I don't want to miss the time I am living in. I hope this short little thought encourages you not to either.
The last few months of walking with these beautiful women and their husbands through Reclaiming Your Heart has been a gift to my heart. God is so kind to allow us to live life doing things that bring life to us.

I'm thrilled to announce that my new audiobook, "Flying Solo," is now available on Audible. Narrated by me, this book chronicles my journey through a painful divorce over the course of a year.
It isn't about being alone. It is about living a life that may hurt at times, wound at times, betray at times; but there is still an incredible unobstructed view of heaven, and an opportunity to discover God in the middle of it. Check it out at https://amzn.to/4dN2dJl
Are You Healing from Your Divorce? - Healing from divorce is a choice. Today, I am highlighting my book "Flying Solo," as well as its new release on Audible. But more importantly, I am talking about the things we allow to prevent us from truly healing after a divorce.
What is Keeping You from Your Promised Land? - The book of Joshua has this powerful statement that I had never noticed before. It was revelatory. I hope it is for you today, too.
