I focused for the past couple months on Humanitarian of the Year stuff.
Felt selfish, conceited and un Jeff like.
This morning I want to put the spotlight like back on the true mission:
Be a part of just one of many positive programs helping an amazing city's youth , be in the front of this awe inspiring movement ( try to just enjoy the ride)and be just a gear in The Machine that is Hampton Strong.
Here's to a great Sunday and it's truly amazing to be the president of something so cool and Environmentally impactful .

I was ahead in votes last night and hope I haven't been overtaken. I'm grateful for your support and would be thrilled with either Humanitarian of the Year or runner-up. Thanks to all who voted from England to Arizona from Canada, to Canton and everyone in between:

I spent Morning spent organizing tools , house parts and she finished the fine tuning of the lighthouse.
Plus the Scarlet hibiscus aka Hampton Star is huge now.
And the gift from my brother and family (the butterfly bush ) is overflowing with beauty.

Tried to fix a bike for a person in need, didn't work out. 1 Facebook market place purchase, 2 hours of repair time, 1 unknown bent frame.
Yep wanted to scream a little instead we went shopping.
Stay tuned for the story of the First new bike purchase in the History of Hampton Strong.
I'll give you a hint it's sparkles.

This morning I want to thank everyone who has not only voted for me for Humanitarian of the Year, but also to those who cheered me on from the very beginning of "I have an idea."

This morning: I just want to thank the universe, the people I interact with on a regular basis and my supporters.
Never in my life did I think I would ever life in a dope city Hampton, date a smoking blonde ,work an amazing job , be a co creator of a non-profit called HamptonStrong, or be the president of it or an everyday hero or in the running for Humanitarian of the Year .
So this morning from the bottom of my heart : Thank you for everything .

Some swag getting pressed and packed for a supporter and an old work shirt got an update .the joke is that was the shirt I wore for my interview lol.

Since I moved here :
I've stopped a 3 on 1 beat down in the middle of the street with just words of love.
I've slowed speeders down with just a wave.
I've impacted this area so powerfully that I was on the local news , then our city's you tube channel, then women's world magazine (with Linda Carter on the cover) and I've made city wide connections.
All with the power of love , kindness and a generous portion of my style and flavor .
I have always known since my youth no matter what life could get better.
Well now I am the part of making it better.

Cup making Saturday: we are getting ready for our next event:
6 kids lost their mom to gun violence a year ago and a grandmother took them all in , bundled with a fundraiser for a local high schooler who is a beast with school and work ethic whom we are helping to raise funds so he can a get a mower and weedwacker to help support his single mom of a few kids
So be ready for the feels and helping to fund this smaller scale: Neighbor Bike Build .

A gifted to us stool being turned into a lit up house number marker shaped like a lighthouse.
I so love my brain.

I picked up a hobby. It helps with my hand mobility and I get to make blinged out smile faces to match my outfit.

I am proud to announce that out of 50 plus people I was chosen as one of 12 finalists for the The everyday hero of the year.
The episode airs August 15 then voting starts and the ceremony is Oct 3rd.
Remember if you think you can't change the world you can't, I know I am.

It's been a hot few days but beating the heat by processing bikes before work.
There will be 1 bike build event worth of bikes still.
Hampton Strong is still here, still grinding, still sweating and everything we can give.
Changing lives one pedal at a time.
Now universe I ( Jeff) would like permanent storage some time in the near future. Please and thank you

Today's blue hour

It's hard to relax when I am losing my bike storage, another kid without a bike, or life's endless adult chores.
Patience: Holy goat cheese I hear it one more time I might achieve it but the wait hurts my soul.
The goal is simple: get every kid in Hampton a bike which makes the steps easy: Funds , a place to build bikes, builders who what to do something positive for the youth ,and the youth.
Tired of being patience.

Trying to get bikes built . Short on parts , short on time , and it's stinking so hot.
1 planned bike finished, 1 unplanned bike abandoned and stripped of usable parts.
Holy crap it's hot.

I have searched for a mentor for a very long time. Just couldn't find the right fit.
I knew that any field, any background, or gender were on the table as I searched.
As I searched I realized I was picking up some of the candidates traits that I loved.
Didn't think I would have one who has dined with royalty, partied with major league ballers, laughed with presidents or who has corny personal nicknames for congress people.
Much love this morning to the universe and couldn't think of a wilder more laughable plot twist, but as he has it is what it is.

As the President of Hampton Strong I wanted to give you all a little of myself.
The last "Happy " childhood memories involved bicycles at 15.
Following those moments were interesting to say the least.
4 high schools,
Numerous couches
Numerous guardian adults
Numerous punches
A totally wild 6 months with my blood dad.
Enough said for now
The goal of Hampton Strong is to change lives through bicycles.
