The Lamb is exhalted!

It's been a very busy week. We are processing 5 of the 7 deer our family shot. I think the count is my mom 2 , my dad 2, Derek, my son, 2 and my brother-in-law, Sonny 1. The deer were all taken from the farm in Shreve, and I don't think we even made a dent in the deer population.

My mom did all the carrots in the garden last week. Now I have another 36 jars of carrots to put in the pantry. My dad also purchased 50 heads of cauliflower very cheep. We froze 33 heads. I think he gave the rest away. We have been a very busy family.

Finally feels like winter is coming. Spent last week freezing 32 heads of cauliflower. This week we're freezing semi-hot stuffed peppers and jalapeno poppers. I hope everybody else is enjoying the cool weather.

How do you know you're getting a fresh egg? Gently rock your egg back and forth. If you feel the yolk bounce against the shell your egg is most likely over two weeks old. This does not indicate a bad egg, just one that would be easier to peel when hard boiled.

For all my Medina customers and friends Eagle Shadow Farms will be at the Litchfield Flee market on Saturday, September 16. We will have sweet corn for $3.50 a dozen and Goji berries for those of you who like those Super foods. I hope to see you there.

Here's a little-known fact watermelons are a berry.

It's official. We have been terminated. The Medina Farmers Market has thrown us out because we grow too much variety and too great a quantity.
