Rain is expected to develop over the Upper OH Valley during the day on Saturday and continue through Sunday. We have had some decrease in the amount of rainfall expected in the models. Still, some locations to the southeast along the ridges can still get over an inch of rainfall.

08/12/2023

Good morning! A decent amount of sunshine and warmer temperatures are forecast for today. Saturday will be even warmer and dry to start, but rain arrives during the evening. A soaking rain is expected later Saturday night and through Sunday, with colder air changing rain to snow the following night. Accumulation will be minor outside of the ridges, but the Monday morning commute may be impacted.

We'll keep you up-to-date all weekend long, of course. It's what we do. 🙂

Temperatures will be on a roller coaster over the next several days! Values will warm through Saturday, and then after a Sunday soaker, a December chill returns by Monday.

06/12/2023

Don’t let the first snow sneak up on you! Be extra careful as you & other drivers adjust to driving in poor conditions. Slow down, don’t use cruise control, keep your distance from other vehicles, & make sure your emergency supply kit is packed before you leave!

Another cold day is expected today, but warmer weather is on the way for the Upper Ohio River Valley area. Readings will rise to near normal Thursday and eventually reach about 60F in Pittsburgh on Saturday which is 15 to 20F above normal for early December. This chart shows the forecast highs for various cities today through Saturday.

A noticeable change in our weather pattern today which will carry through at least midweek. Going to feel more like winter here over the next few days with below normal temperatures and the chance for snow. We aren't expecting much snow, mostly flurries or a brief snow shower, mainly Tuesday night into Wednesday, but if you will be heading into the ridges at that time, that would be the place to see the white stuff pile up. Here are expected high temperatures for locations across our forecast area.

There is an 84% chance of it staying below freezing in Pittsburgh, with values approaching 100% along the I-80 corridor. Wind chill readings will be cold with values no higher than the teens in most areas and only the single digits over the ridges and in Tucker County WV.
